speaking of the blacked out cover, im a motorcycle mech and worked on china's version of yamaha dirt bikes, which is yamoto, and the tricks they use to get by copyright infringement are amazing, if not amusing. the yamoto bike is much cheaper (made) but in essence the exact same thing the japanese yamaha makers produce. Makes me wonder bottomline how or who gets the construction/design plans from yamaha to ''clone'' things...such apparent the same case here...

So Optibotimus, you're mainly buying this for the Matrix and the gun? I've placed the Matrix from the "Battle in Space" set in my G1 Prime, where it fits perfectly. Still like the gun, though...but not sure if it's worth the price.
hey there optibotimus - found out what the silver tab does! It attaches to the trailer on the front right between the truck and trailer. This is then used to attach the rocket pack to the trailer for storage in vehicle mode.
The extra part seems to fit into the bottom of the backside of the backpack under the peg. I think it's to keep it even when attached to Prime's Trailer in the front.
The little silver piece you said you couldn't figure out can go onto the bottom of the jet pack so you can then put it on the trailer when Optimus is hitched up to it or it allows you to put it on Roller.

Hmm, just realized that that slot on the back of Optimus where the jetpack tabs into isn't in the original release.
That slot was added in the G2 re-issue to allow that big sound pack/reefer thing to hang of his back. Every subsequent re-issue featured that slot, but hasn't been used for anything else
Also fits nicely on Classics Prime's back using the peg on the jetpack. Along with the holes on top of the jetpack you can really deck him out with some shoulder mounted goodness, not to mention he can hold the energon axe! And I agree about the small silver tab thing that it allows storage of the jetpack on the front of the trailer using the Roller eject tab. Storage for eveything with no loose pieces, yay!

Great review! I picked this up based on your review (from TFSource though, they're in MN like myself and I got it QUICK!). Anyways... a couple of points for everyone. It does NOT fit on real G1 primes (not mine anyway) as there is no slot for the bottom of the jetpack to fit in. It does fit into both my re-issue Pepsi Prime and my 25th Anniversary Prime.

hey paul i got the kit today and that silver peg is for the backpack to attach to the trailer. oh and the hands on mine were the same color and texture but i had to shave some plastic off to get the hands and thumbs to move
@optibotimus that indeed where it goes paul that way the backpack attaches to the trailer and it makes it look like a refrigeration truck lol. to note i have the 25th anniversary g1 prime. it shouldn't make a difference though.

Does anyone know what the "connector plug" is for? Also this doesnt seem to work on pre-rub primes or other true G1 primes, according to my friend. I just checked and it doesnt work with my Battle Convoy. The older molds dont have the rectangular slot for the bottom connection of the jetpack.
I'm sorry but I've seen many more negatives about this than positives. If I buy the set (and thats a huge if) It will be when the price goes down a bit. Alot of this companies products have been garbage thus far. I do like the gun and rocker pack but the matrix itself is kinda meh to me. the hands and axe are garbage.

@optibotimus i had to kind of work that piece on to the tab. i think its more of a factory production issue then a design issue. and as for BTS-04 goes i say a shoe box for the Nike version of optimus prime that turns into a shoe lol.

Does anyone know what the "connector plug" is for? Also this doesnt seem to work on pre-rub primes or other true G1 primes, according to my friend. I just checked and it doesnt work with my Battle Convoy. The older molds dont have the rectangular slot for the bottom connection of the jetpack.

@theawddrifter This set may have been made specifically for G2 Prime, at least the second version. notice the lighter coloured hands!

I'm sorry but I've seen many more negatives about this than positives. If I buy the set (and thats a huge if) It will be when the price goes down a bit. Alot of this companies products have been garbage thus far. I do like the gun and rocker pack but the matrix itself is kinda meh to me. the hands and axe are garbage.

@Shadowjugement yes i just tried it but the jet pack wont work to well on any of the primes based on the ultra magnus mold btw it also works on the gen 2 prime
