how can a band "sound mainstream"? every album is a work of art they have put effort into creating in order to one day have their talents and hard work be recognized by the world. so god forbid a talented band actually hit the mainstream and maybe top a chart over justin bieber. it sounds pretty good to me.
@jessica1234198 Well, i think that things can sound "mainstream" because music that's being played in mainstream circulation for the most part has a common sound. With that said though, i agree, i love this band and i love the music they've created so frankly, if they were to make it into the ears of the general public (those who listen primarily to top and 40 and etc.), i'd be proud, people need to hear good music like this
I don't have any of these guy's albums, but I've listened to them, their first one is exactly what I love of a band, but their second is what I hate that happens to bands. It just doesn't, like, sound the same. I get goosebumps when I listen to the first one, I love like every song. But the second bores me. It just doesn't have that "thing" the first one had. I'm sorry.
This song is great. For a "under" band to produce something like this is pretty cool. Love all of them and hope they make their way to the top because, they have the material for it,
For anyone who didnt understand this video, all of the strings connected to the rhumb line. Basically, the point where all lines intersect; its used in sailing and flight.. Cool huh, thats the name of this album too.
@enahhhhh How did you hear it, now, I mean. Try hearing it using head phones and then loud speakers. It sounds so AWESOME, both ways but differently somehow. And when he's singing "On every, on every inch of stone." His voice sounds awesome, (in loudspeakers) and the rest of the band sounds so amazing, when using headphones.
I've known about this band for a while, but I've never taken the time to listen to them. This band is now my favorite, and this song is simply amazing. For me they have surpassed arcade fire!
ONLY 100k views? That doesn't seem right, this video should have like 10 million views, because this band is awesome. They have a violinist and cellist, how many other bands try that?
i dont mind if good bands get big i mean as long as they stay "good" most of them start to be come well known then they write crap music to please the majority of ears that generally listen to crap music
Ah, they had to play at the exact same time as Rise Against today at Seattle's Bumbershoot 2010. My musical taste is all over the place, but I still would have loved to see them play. Sometime perhaps.

its rare to find an outstanding band with girls who play violins and cellos...
most bands these days are annoying wanna be indie groups that have terrible voices and dont know how to write good music. Ra Ra Riot is THE example of a talented and unique band. plus the boys are so hot. watching them perform makes me blush. nuff said.
i love this song. i'd love to know the lyrics but when i searched for this tune different sites have some really divergent interpretations of what the lyrics are ......either way this song is MAGIC
There is no possible way for 'good indie' bands to stay small. If people like them they're going to go far because people will demand more of them and they'll have to fill the void. common knowledge.
@Carrots1919 I agree. It's funny, cause like, when I was younger (around 11), my dad listened to a lot of indie bands at the time, but when I came to the age where I liked music (I'm 14 now), those same bands he listened to, their next albums were all big, they were like advertised on the front page of iTunes and everything, yet the thing is, those albums couldn't compare to their older ones. They're still great, but SOME bands, when they go mainstream, sometimes they start to sound mainstream.
@SuperSmashbro125 I have the exact same story. Except my dad has always listened to indie groups. so I have always liked the albums before they went mainstream. (I'm 13 now).
@SuperSmashbro125 matt and kim perfect example there new album i think other than sivler tiles which is a rerecord of a demo song other than that the album is unlistenable its so mainstream and dirt i cant listen to it
This song reminds me of Autumn. I bought the album last August, and ended up going to their show in my hometown on a whim in September, because I was listening to it on my way to work one morning, and it looked, felt, and smelled like fall, and this song just topped it off. Plus, Autumn is my favorite season, so it made me feel so amazing. I didn't have the money to spend on a show, but this song and the perfect atmosphere convinced me. I regret nothing. PERFECT show. <3

@StrangeFilms i agree they need to make their money, but when all the dumb little girls start listening to them their demographic changes and so does their music. It just sucks when they get famous.
@watchthispk Not always. It really depends on the band. OK Go has always been pretty well known, what with their music being on commercials, in movies and movie trailers, and despite their fan base expanding to include said fan girls, their music has gotten better, and they're still the same guys. Not every musician is in it for the fame and glory. Some stay true to who they are.
@StrangeFilms I agree as long as the music continues to grow. That said, what some fans might find disappointing and ultimately shy them away is that now they have to pay an exceptional amount more money to see them in a much larger venue.
@superdude1452 bands get big simply because they are good. lol if people can't deal with other's thinking their music is good.. then they are just lame hipsters trying to find random obscure music to be "cool"
