  • the softer you are from the center of the light coming in? wtf

  • Great! Thanks!

  • ya know that getting closer gives more bokeh? and who does a shoot on a tripod? walk 'n' squat people

  • Scott Kelby is my rockstar, his helping guides are music to my ear.

  • excellent tips.

    your an excellent teacher Scott!

  • what about getting close to the subject and read the lights enstead changing the camera?

  • Your a great teacher Scott.

  • this book really is the best

  • Why don't you just use a light meter????

  • Kelby rocks! I have read all 3 of his digital photography books. He is so original and real. I just love the way he teaches!

  • One thing, maybe a detail, but the chance of your camera overexposing in a predominantly white environement like in this vid is pretty slim. LOL . If anything it would underexpose (remember , light meters want to reduce everything to +/- 18% grey)

  • @detector112 for sure most cases u wud prob need to go a stop or even close to 2 stops with such a white enviroment......

  • does the north window work for all countries?? what about time?

  • KELBY IS KING!!!

See you in Vancouver in July!!!

  • yezzz so much "bla blA bla".... JUST GET TO THE POINT!

  • @fox428 Absolutely. This guy uses two paragraphs of words to get to one sentence of useful information. Reminds me of those plastic wind up chatter teeth toys. What a annoying chatterbox....

  • Ever since I discovered his books at Barnes and Noble, he became my mentor and I have made many nice shots and even got prizes for it and it all thanks to Mr. Scott Kelby!

  • He's a genius.

  • love the loft

  • "Ideally" This guys friggin awesome.

  • Great training. (I propose that KMG banish the use of the word "now" from all of their videos--it's a curiously common tic.)

  • I know the chances of me getting a reply here are extremely slim but what's worth learning, definitely worth giving a shot :p

I have bought volumes 1, 2 and 3 of The Digital Photography and read them and improved amazingly and was wondering what other books have you wrote? I am considering getting them all, including Photoshop lessons. Please anyone link me to a page where I can see all the book that have been published by Scott Kelby. Thanks if you're still reading :p

  • We are a blog that promotes the artwork of the unknown. We found Scott's video very helpful and have published it in the video-section at following link :

    edeezine dot com

    Thanks a lot Scott !

  • Is it just the video or is the final photo overexposed in some parts of the face, which is exactly what he was trying to avoid?

  • @KackeEgal What you see on the video isn't what happens with his camera.

  • scott, if you really love difuse natural light you really shoult come to trondheim in Norway. here its cloudy all the time and there is hard grey clouds so all light is difuse.=)

  • Thanks Scott. Informative, easy to understand- just what I needed. I look forward to your other vids:)

  • Good advice

  • You're awesome man! Thank you! You are great at explaining things!

  • Great tips! Awesome vid! I am so happy I am able to see exactly how this is done!

  • Remember the the north facing window only apply when you are on the northern hemisphere. South facing window if your on the other side. ;)

  • really, I did not know that. Good to know!

  • Great tips, I have all the books but I think there's an even greater advantage to watching the tips in video.
