Man, you guys are so close. You need to produce your songs though. I just teach now. I used to produce songs for local bands, but its way to time consuming and emotionally frustrating. You guys got me wanting to produce again actually. For now, let me say your phrasing is very good but your structure needs lots of work. Think of structure as Lego's or building blocks with different sizes and colors. A phrase may be a gray block, and the rest or transitional phrase maybe be a green block.

For instance: the rest the guitar uses on the 8th measure sounds abrupt. Why is this? It can be fixed in several ways. One way would be to correct the rhythm in the phrase so as to set up something to transition into the rest. So I would suggest putting the root tonic note on the 1st beat of the phrase in a precise way (meaning it is accented, or at least clearly punctuated) and transition into the rest 4 + with the 4 + in between the 7th and 8th measure accented. Also, when you sing the word "my" in the 10th measure, this note is just begging for the guitar chord to change on the 11th measure. If this is done it will open a whole nother can of worm, but think back to the Lego analogy I used before. It's very hard to get all these bugs worked because one thing effects another, but it means the difference between an ok song and a great song. I hope I have not hijacked your video and comments. I do believe that your songs if produced could make you all rich

the guitarist is great at writing cool parts....he gets A D D though when it comes to composition...as the drummer, very frustrating for me, but he's gettin better. remember though...this is just a live recording we had fun with tweaking with a studio.. it is what it is for now!
