I just watched the video. They didn't hit the small target. I bet a 74 would do the trick. The sights on the 47s and 74s are just not that great.

if you know anything about shooting yes, the Garand was capable of hits at 1,000 yards thanks to its excellent design, build quality, and the 30-06 cartridge

however 500Y is easy........

exactly, i can ring steel at 500 yrds with irons on an M16 govt POS rifle, ive seen a friend shooting a match grade set-up, gun, ammo, optic etc.. and be hit or miss at 150... shooter is the biggest factor on any shot

The M16 has way better sights then the AK, big advantage.

Very true, but I don't think we were talking about an AK, the M1 has excellent iron sights, thats why peep sights were continued from the M1 to the M14 to the M16. Yeah the AK sights are.. adequate at best
