  • *Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch!!!!!

  • 0:47 You drowned yourself. You are, you said, drowned, you are.

  • Wish there was an acoustic version on an album of this song.

  • This is something special.

  • Amazing!!!

  • @Manny1222 thank you for the answer

  • Dislikes on Sigur Ros songs simply aren't.

  • Dislikes on Sigur Ros songs simply aren't.

  • Is he gay?

  • @ClaudiaSayurii Yes, Jonsi is openly gay.

  • why must intros to all these hipster songs be sooo long?

  • @VASINGER This is the all mighty Sigur Ros, not a hipster song.

  • @VASINGER isn't hipster stuff supposed to be obscure?

  • @VASINGER isn't hipster stuff supposed to be obscure?

  • @Droohie lol, a friend of mine called Dream Theater hipster music. I felt like slapping him.

  • <3

  • You Sigh Low ©

  • voice of honey...

  • beautiful =o)

  • I get the chills every time I listen to this song. As with most of their songs. I don't understand how they can have so much emotion. They're pure musical geniuses.

  • This song calms ripples and explores possibles into probables

  • Sigur Ros....(:

  • don't think there is another artist can touch my heart in such intense way - love Sigur Ros .... :)

  • i always cry with this song... THE NOTHING SONG..

  • "praneta lamma"

  • famous scene in qaf ...I always cry!

  • @gwenn2005 I remember that too. That was a very sad scene in QAF... :( And that's also how I started listening to Sigur Rós and became a fan.

  • look up "while the city sleeps - back when we knew", similar big soundscapes and grand crescendos.

  • Ależ to piękne...

  • Heard this in Vanilla Sky.. :')

Beautiful music with such a perfect movie.

  • there music is songs of the soul purity and truth. fighting from there weakness

  • I thought I'd overthink my praise for the band, but decided on simple honesty: they make everything seem more beautiful than they are. I love sigur ros with lyrics that can be whatever you need... or gibberish as my friends say. i'm content either way.

  • Anytime I feel depressed, this song always makes me feel better. Don't know what it is, just the beauty of the song.

  • simplemente hermoso..........

  • Love this band with all my heart

  • @ItsFrusciantesGhost me to ;)

  • Zelfde stem als tim knol!!!!

  • You like Sigur Ros? What do you think of the sound of the Gutknecht?

  • @theGutknecht robish

  • @JWRONG1996 no...

  • God's iPod contains Sigur Ros.

  • @sjflowers562 hahaha you can bet on that

  • @sjflowers562 Jahs record player plays Sigur Ros

  • @sjflowers562 Sigur Ros's Ipod contains god.

  • @ilikeredandblack

Well considering the lead singer is openly homosexual, I'm guessing God doesn't like Sigur Ros as much as you'd think.

Good news though, your idea of God is much like that of an eight year old's idea of the Easter Bunny. Cute, fuzzy, and completely fictional. Cheers.

  • @diedahero

Man created god in his own image, biased and self-serving. Thank you for perpetuating the cycle of intolerance; else what would people have to fight over?

  • @umbathri

So you've decided to show your moral superiority by commenting about my commenting? How very enlightened of you.

  • @diedahero

My morality or lack thereof is not an issue. I would never go to some church and chant you’re all a bunch of fugging sheep. Yet you feel the need to come here and disparage those who have opinions differing from yours. Enjoy the music, that is your right; but if you’re going to post negative comments you deserve to be chastised for it.

  • @umbathri

Let's get this straight, I've made a semi-witty comment about how the bible has taught nothing but hate and ostracizing for the homosexual community for over 2,000 years and masked it behind a veil of scripture. I haven't disparaged anyone's opinion on anything.

Unless you're saying that Leviticus 18:22 or Corinthians 6:9-10 or Leviticus 20:13 is now considered an opinion by the Catholic church?

  • @diedahero

Actually that’s exactly what I’m saying; it’s an opinion even to ‘the catholic church’. When they can choose to strictly adhere to one prescript and completely ignore others, they are showing their opinion on which are holy word and which are just the ravings of madmen thousands of years dead. But to argue any further would be a waste of time since I obviously missed your ‘veiled’ connotation. Excuse me.

  • @umbathri

Sweet, you should go talk to the Pope and help educate him and his clergy then. Because they teach that the bible is the unequivocal word of God; which apparently has led to some confusion.

Because most people have taken; "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." As the law of God almighty himself. You should spread the word that it was just his opinion instead

  • Comment removed

  • @umbathri thats an ironic statement, because non-believers fail to see their own conformity and sheep like following of the world and all worldly things.

  • @sjflowers562

    you mean the iGod :)

  • Music which fulfills me with the greatest possible emotions humans can ever feel.

  • look up "while the city sleeps-back when we knew", very similar colourful soundscapes and grand crescendos!

  • i feel hopeless tonight but this song makes me feel safe comforted and human again <3

  • I cant help but wonder what hes visualizing during this taping. Its nice to see that he gets caught up in the music no less and maybe even more than the audience. Amazing

  • @mockylock08 It's cause his eyes are fucked up, he is all self-conscious en sheet so he keeps em closed.

  • is there any lyrics for this song????

It looks so emotive for the vocalist.... well it sounds really emotive for me too even though I have no idea what he's talking about

  • @phaelfalcon - there aren't any actual lyrics.. jónsi just sings gibberish that fits with the music. the made up words come from deep inside - that's why it gives people such a good feeling to listen to him. but a couple of years ago they held a contest to transcribe, translate and interpret jónsi's vocals: sigur-ros.co.uk/interact/ -> check the summer competition 2002

  • Como diria meu brother Marreta,

    Excelenteee!*

  • This is beatutiful, I love Sigur ros!

  • mikefloyd: vonlenska means "hopelandic" -- analogous to Íslenska ("Icelandic"). Von = hope. :)

  • is there anywhere i can get this live acoustic version on itunes? it is my favourite version and i come here to listen to it everynight lol!

  • sono grandiosi.... come vorrei andare ad un loro concerto...

  • 1:18

Down in front, I'm trying to watch.

  • I'm guessing this is in Vonlenska, as I'm not recognizing any of the lyrics as Icelandic. Although, to be fair, I'm only a beginner at Icelandic, and I have enough trouble making sense of normal spoken Icelandic.

That's the long way of saying, "The lyrics are whatever you make of them."

  • @KarenRei It's hopelandic.....made up language......no words.

  • @mikefloyd1 Hopelandic is the English word for Vonlenska.

  • can someone give me the lyrics?

  • can someone give the lyrics?

  • That Piano makes me cry.

  • does he have problems with his eyes? I noticed that they look strange.

  • @thegreatestg he is right eyed blinded..

  • @thegreatestg he is right eyed blinded

  • ..uhm..not bad but i return to hear soul, the voice and the virtuoso guitar by Jose Feliciano,..

  • it took off my longtime headache...

  • Listening to Sigur Ros is like discovering a new place nobody has ever been before, like it's your place, it was made for you to be there, and no one else.

  • Tout simplement magnifique. Elle me donne des frissons à chaque fois que je l'écoute.

  • this is what love feels like

  • perfect....

  • @1UNICORNIOSOUTH Learn2English, then we'll talk.

  • Bryan Singer. Great director..... and uh....... singer. Sigur Ros for life!

  • every single song has meaning....nobody else in music can do what sigur ros can

  • Try BAN, COOL AND CRUEL, amazing and new!!!

  • I can't explain what I feel when listening to shis song... It's out of this world

  • i think it's cool how sigur ros is one of the most famous musical groups/artists/whatever to come out of iceland and they all just look like a bunch of average joes

  • Здорово!Восхитительно!)

  • 31 people doesnt have peace on their souls

  • Son facinantes!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jamesstafforduk. So I guess you for the other billion music lovers too! It's not serious. The last time I checked it was fine to have your own opinion. Lighten up. Lol

  • @jamesstafforduk. Ok?

  • I think it's evident Sigur Ros had an influence on Coldplay

  • They are amazing! Is it just me, or does Coldplay have a similar sound than this Legendary Icelandic band?

  • @1ebonyskin

    It is just you.

Like comparing Mozart with Rob Lefield.

    Thanks.

  • @1ebonyskin Coldplay True. i tottaly agree with you. As Coldplay fan sinds 2001 i feel the same emotions in the songs of sigur ros & coldplay . Im not feeling the emotions of there Last album Viva La vida. i talking about there older songs from albums like Parachutes & A Rush of blood to the head ( 2000 & 2002 ) don't panic is for me the most emotional song of coldplay . you should listen to the blue room version of don't panic. it got somethin of sigur ros.

    Cya!

  • the best band in the world, nothing like Sigur Rós.. this is Magic.

  • Well i think i just experienced some cosmic out of body-experience/non-existence for 8 minutes. That was mesmerising to say the least

  • sigur ros fans look up "while the city sleeps", similar dreamscapes!

  • The greatest thing one ever learns is they no nothing at all..

  • at 4:27 you can see him coming back to earth from somewhere else he was brought to by the song and his feelings... it seems to hurt him some way

  • fans of the amazing sigur ros will like this atypical acoustic * instrumental * trio. featuring thought provoking compositions that stick in your mind, ethereal chamber violin, guitar played in every capo position strummed at times or in revolving melody and a drummer who only listens to classical. makes for some interesting listening. after forming in mid 2008, they are gaining a fan base in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U.S.

Search Youtube for "Star FK Radium"

  • /watch?v=gz0RAPmp8DQ

  • Ive heard this song also as "The Nothing Song"

  • Sigur ros fans should look up "while the city sleeps, title track", music with similar spacy and big soundscapes!

  • I hate it when I spend YEARS of my life ignoring that there's people who's actually making real music like these guys, this is just BEAUTIFUL

  • i dont stand a word of it but i love it

  • [like] clic clic clic clic clic...

  • I wanna live in this song

  • sigur ros broke new ground! for fans of acoustic trios also try "Star FK Radium" - violin, guitar and drums - no vocals with a sound reminiscent of solitude and visual imagery. this band is a study in opposites that are complex but simple. try either "Karmara" or "Blue Siberia", both good choices to introduce you to this band gaining popularity in Sweden and worldwide. On FB too if you prefer.

  • 'Iceland: Beyond Sigur Ros' (2011). New free music documentary out! :)

  • Truly one of the best bands on the planet.

  • i love this music and have done for many years. puts me at ease specially this little number i love waking up in the morning to it

  • 4:34.

    you're welcome.

  • The first time I heard this song was while I was on a long road trip home from my girlfriend's house who lived 200+ miles away. As the song began the snow was falling on the ground and blowing around. It was as if the snow was dancing with the music. The emotions I felt at that moment, the beauty of the landscape, and the sheer power of the song was one of the most memorable, profound moments of my life.

  • @1ofmanytylerjohnsons Exactly. Perfectly written.

  • @1ofmanytylerjohnsons I had an identical experience, except mine was driving through a mountain pass in the California desert. It may have been the closest to a God and heaven I've ever felt.

  • @1ofmanytylerjohnsons thats awesome :)

  • @1ofmanytylerjohnsons an then I just chundered...EVERYWHERE.

  • @1ofmanytylerjohnsons man i nneed your radio station!

  • @38219947

    I hope you're joking.

  • Qué ganas de poder entenderle a la letra de esta canción. Siento que ha de hablar algo así de como los sueños se hacen realidad. Me encantan.

  • is it true that they use self created language for most of the songs?

  • @ihugtheworld no, for the most it is icelandic :)
