Thanks for your valuable feedback. Many of the shoots (including this one) at the Literature Festival were not planned and coordinated - we didn't have the option to pick the location or the duration - in a 15 min start to finish setup with one camera, its difficult to override these concerns.
yes, a less noisy spot, a videographer that knows NOT to set up in front of a glass door that reflects the tripod and the camera as well as himself while he stands around talking in the background - and who can actually frame a shot so that we get to SEE their faces and expressions.
Last requirement might be an interviewer who know's a little about editing... and listening.
