go to the junk yard and pick up some shocks off something like an expedition's back door. and try to integrate them with the trunk lid.. should have enough strength to hold it up. if not, add a 2nd

a large horizontal carbon fiber tube instead of 4 pvc tubes would save a lot of weight and hold a lot more. if you filled the tube from the left and had a spout on the right, that would work pretty well. you could also have two large horizontal carbon fiber tubes with the spout in the middle. the carbon fiber itself would run under $50

SOME of us don't LIVE anywhere near an official PB field and out here in the country we have what's called LAND. We can woodball whenever and however we want AND park our vehicles wherever we want too.

By the way, wash paintball off of a car ASAP. Once it dries, it becomes some sort of frakkin' super glue!

Really because i am on a devision 3 team also and my mom is santa clause my dad is bill gates and i have 10 of every paintball marker in the world. Maybe you cant do that at your field if you even really play paintball, but most fields have something called a parking lot next to the field. You see a parking lot is a place were you park these big things called vehicles.

My local fields the parking lot sits next to the shop and across from the entry points onto the fields. They even have placed small workbenches that break up the parking spots.

So you can pull up, have a work bench, and can keep your cooler/extra gear in the car and the field dont have to worry about lockers.

Everyone likes it that way so you can lock your stuff up.

BTW Awesome Idea , Id just paint the pods (Similar to your Car), mount to something lighter and use thinner pipes.

cos it doesn't matter how light the system is, cos if they are filled with paint they are going to be dragging the door down anyway.

a piece of good advice is that you should think about insulation around the tubes, since its gonna get pretty hot in there and your paint will expand, which is bad.

it looks to me like your using sch.40 PVC pipe. to make it lighter you could just use thinner PVC pipe.
