Politically, much of the world got involved in the U.S. Presidential Election. The reason they cared is because America has a lot of influence. That's just how it is. But since I am obviously ignorant, why don't you tell me just who IS the most powerful nation in the world. China? Russia? The EU?

It is lamentable that so many people are unaware of, say, the location of Canada. I recall one particular show in which there was this girl who thought Paris was a country, and that Europe was a city. However, from what I've seen this isn't limited to America. I do agree, though, that America needs better education. A lot of what they are teaching in schools these days is pure garbage. They're more interested in perception than in facts.

Well, it works out great until you need a major procedure (or even a test, like an MRI) and the government tells you that you can't have it for months or even years. Or the government decides that you can't have a certain procedure (I don't know if that happens in Canada, but I know it does in the UK). Meanwhile your condition gets worse or, worse yet, you die. Many Canadians flee to the US and pay out of pocket for care here for that very reason. Unfortunately a lot of people can't afford that.

this is y canadas health care is soo good.
I needed an MRI in the summer because I had a stress fracture up my arm(very rare) from doing gymnastics and I got it within 2 in a half weeks and my HMO covered it(hmo in canada is ur free health care)..although the waits in Emergancy is ridiculous when i went i waited 9hours.Iwent to america once and waited 1hour

From what I've heard from a number of people who live in countries with socialized medcare, it lessens the standard of care and the availability of it. I prefer when there is competition, it makes them work harder to make the best product. When there is no one you need to work hard against, you start to stagnate. Case in point, the ancient Egyptians. They had no rivals, and so when the Hyksos came, they were easily overcome. (Lol, a very old example, but I think it fits.)

kris allen really deserves this 'cause he was a quiet underdog. the dark horse galloped his way to the top. the show became the adam lambert show, which is why i hate him so much. everything was about adam. that was all i hear, and the rest was mere guests. but kris rose to he occasion. and i always like humble guys next door with a shirt and jeans:-)
