They Don't Make Kid shows like they used to. The shows today like the Jonahs brothers, Hanna Montana, and others are not kid friendly. Those shows ought to be rated PG-13. Not PG or anything lower.

i fucking hate the jonahs brothers and hannah montana. all of these new kids shows dont show any originality. theyre not even kids shows, they seem more grown up. when u watch shining time station it makes me remember all the good times as a kid. and i get a warm fuzzy feling inside. but these newer cartoons are crap. they are seriously ruining the new generation. thats just me though. does anyone get what im saying though? they just arent the same.the new ones arent fun to watch.

@montyp919 Yeah, I'm seriously considering getting a petition to bring back all these good shows...seriously, the only reason I know about this show is because Ringo Starr is in it and being a big Beatles fan I just HAD to watch it. I never even realised how good it was whether or not Ringo was in it or not.

I was born in the somewhat new generation and i never watch shows being created now. I always go and watch shows such as Thomas, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, etc. never the new shows. and same with movies... "Want to see the new Dinosaur movie out?" RESPONSE: "Nah, ill go watch Jurrassic Park" See?

This is the pilot episode, Schemer is credited in this episode, but he dosen't appear until the second episode. Therefore it would be strange to credit someone if they aren't in the episode

I liked George Carlin as the mr. conductor mostly because he reminded me of my grandfather. I remember this show so much,I was just so young at the time. GREAT MEMORIES!!!!!!! :)

Alec Baldwin didn't do a good Mr Conductor as the film was a failure. I wonder what it would have been like with Michael Brandon as Mr Conductor. Perhaps if Shining Time Station returned, it could feature Pierce Brosnan (of James Bond fame) as Mr Conductor as he is narrating Thomas for all English regions including the US and the UK.

I don't think Alec Baldwin was THAT bad (that's just my oppinion), though not NEARLY as good as Ringo Starr or George Carlin (Not sure if Carlin only did the US versions...probably did). Though I can't speak for anyone else, it's probably just culture shock not seeing the Mr. Conductors we grew up with. It would be interesting to see how Pierce Brosnan does...
