It'll work on the pci-express 1.1, or 2.0. It'll also work on any nForce mother board of you only have one. However, you cannot do crossfire on a nvidia motherboard.

why not get the new 4850? it is around 199 bucks and performs almost and sometimes beats (yes i know, but its true in certain games) the 9800 gtx. Check out reviews online, there is one at guru3d, I was amazed.

The 9800gtx is the same price. It's 50/50 between the two. An XFX 9800gtx at newegg is on $180, so either one is a good buy. The 9800gtx is about 5fps better in CRYSIS, idk why and any other game they're about identical. The 9800gtx seems to do better at higher reolutions, but the 4850 is on pre-mature drivers...Either one isa good but. If you have and Nvidia motherboard, get the 9800gtx, if you Have a 790fx or better, go for the 4850.

I got this card and it freezes in COD 4 , Crysis and Gears of wars, i had to under clock it to 775 core clock and 1125 memory clock to get it working stable, its not a kickass product anyways, he's a liar.

yupp, got to underclock it to get it running stable, most disappointing thing is that the HIS doesnt give you any support, its not AMD ATI fault, but its partner HIS, i still get it why this card freezes/halts in games when temperatures are not high and everything else is just fine.... :(

once reach 80 degree it start to freeze..the chip that control the fan doesn't do its job much..thats why Riva Tune comes handy..i even put extra fan beside the card just to help air circulation.

yeah i will send it back as well if warranty works for you, what i still dont get is that, this card with catalyst 7.1 drivers runs call of duty without freeze/halt/lockup (all other games as well), instead a halt/freeze i 5 second lag, then some scattered colors as if i pressed the windows button on the keyboard, after that 5-10 sceconds lag, i am back in the game, and with catalyst 7.1 i got same result in all games, i mean no halt or freeze, maybe its a drivers issue, but i am really not sure

it's not new technology.The new 8800gt and up started to use the new g92 core.the gx2 is basically just a 8800gt in sli but on one.yes the 98gx2 is still the fastest single card solution,but only for crysis cause any other game i'll say the 3870x2 is a really good card for the price epsecially if you like half-life games.nvidia card only perform better in that one game but other than that i think all cards from the 8 series and 3800 series are good cards.

technically the 9800 GX2 is just 2 8800 gts slapped together...to me, i would say that the 8800 ultra is the best so far, however, if you are into quad GPU's then hey the 9800 is for you, but if your going high end id go with tri-sli 8800 ultras, since the 9800 only go in 2-way sli.
