GIGOLETTE is a great bit of theremin history! In 1948, there was an article in the HOLLYWOOD CITIZEN NEWS in which thereminist Samuel Hoffman publicly refuted claims that the theremin was controlled by "thought waves". A lot of misunderstanding and rumor surrounded the instrument in those days.

What Lucie Rosen lacked in theremin virtuosity she made up for in enthusiasm and financial support for the instrument.

Not even close. This instrument is played by interacting with the capacitive fields surrounding two metal rods extending from the instrument.
