  • awesome song!!!!!!!!!

  • what do you think this video means? what do you think is coming that made everyone run away but him run towards? is it literal or does it have a deeper meaning?

  • I think that the point they're trying to get across is that you should face fear and to never give up, and by running towards he was "Facing Fear" :D

  • Best song ever

  • this song gave me goosebumps. great song

  • Does anyone know the actor playing the surfer dude in this clip?

  • his name is CORY ASSINK.

  • its all about music not a christian or whatever it is, coz music is life, without music there's no electricity maybe its gone.. peace...It's all about music, without music, there's no life :)

  • They are christian music you fucktard.

  • thats not a very christian remark

  • I cuss. Big whoop.

  • finally some one who understands...

i cuss to and my friend is always telling me not too...

  • he is saying the fact that they are christian is irrelevant. its just the music that is important.

  • @balmarid yeah ur might be right... but this song is not only for everyone its all about the Lord as well.

  • @balmarid

  • This is A great they played a this athe 2008 youth convention in San Diego yyyyyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

  • What the members of Switchfoot have explicitly said is that they are NOT a Christian band. In fact, Jon called the genre "Christian music" just a label, or a box, that prevents the band from growing or gaining recognition.

So while the members of Switchfoot are Christian, Switchfoot is not a Christian band.

    /rant

    I love this song!

  • Raphael

  • they pray before every concert and they have bible studies almost every night so ya there a christian band

  • They can be christian ... but it's hard to say if they are a "christian band" ... their songs do not talk abt jesus of stuff like that ... their believes influence their songs ... of course ... but I'm not sure if they cna be called a Christian band ... well ... whatever ... I love 'em ... it doens't matter to me if they are or nor a christian band ...

  • This song, personally, is about realizing what I've done wrong, standing up to it, and letting God forgive me.

It could also be a song about when someone at church realises that they are a sinner and are prepared to stand up and change thier ways. That's just my take on the song...

    Reply...

  • there a christian band i no that for a fact cuz i no them personaly and have known them for about 3 years so i no there a christian band

  • I love this song. But isn't there another music video on this? I like this one better, it looks more realistic, not that the other one isn't, I just like it better. Makes alot more different and...well...amazing.

  • it's better than the other one......What do u think?

  • ill say this now my home christian station ksbj has called them a christian band no offence to anyone

    ♥bubbles♥

  • you're not suppose to know what the actor sees.

It's a sense of achieving & overcoming what everyone else is afraid of, whom run away from.

*Also I think it's true that Switchfoot is NOT a 'Christian Band', but this doesn't reflect on their faith & their beliefs.

Switchfoot are all-out for Christ, but they sing songs because it's clearly a gift they have;some of their work just can't help but reflect God & faith.

IT's good they refused to be labelled & restricted to just 'christian'

  • Well, according to Switchfoot themselves, they are a Christian band. They didn't start as a Christian band, simply because they didn't know there was any such thing as a Christian band. But they're all Christians and call themselves a Christian band.

  • What did he saw in the last seconds?

  • this be fulll klidad!!!!

  • i dont get it

    how come theres like 3

    versions and two different

    videos of this song!?

  • i love this one also switchfoot is all together a great band ps this sis shelci not shadler

  • amff!!!! this is niceeeeeeeee

  • one word.. AWESOME

  • I love this song

  • i think the 1st one is greater but this isnt bad the "i dare you to move" part is not high pitched than the older ones

  • I love this song so much! Wasn't there another video to this?

  • i like this one much better than the first one.

does anyone know where i can download this version of dare you to move?

  • nice one!!!

  • hmmm......well!! this song rox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome song! love it

  • I love this song

  • Jon foreman is a committed Christian. The song has a christian inclination. What with "Maybe redemption has stories to tell, maybe forgiveness is right where you fell... where you gonna go? salvation is here" ? I agree with riczenlee01, "i dare you to move" is a challenge to the believers, spread the faith.

  • Switchfoot is often referred to as a "Christian band", mostly due to their involvement with the Christian rock scene in their early days. But the band has always shunned this label."We've always been very open and honest about where the songs are coming from. For us, these songs are for everyone. Calling us 'Christian rock' tends to be a box that closes some people out and excludes them. And that's not what we're trying to do.-Jon Foreman

He said himself they've swayed from christian rock.

  • is this the song in twilight????

    just a question....

    if not its also great:)

  • Yepp it was in most of the trailers and commercials.

  • these song is a christian song and the purpose of this christian song called dare you to move is to reach out the unbelievers out there..

  • this song is wonderfull!! wow wooo

  • Wha... What?! Why does 70% of the people think this song is for christian or anything that is related to religion? LMAO!

  • Hmm well some of the lyrics is deeply related to forgiveness of God and stuff.

  • I see. lol I only listen to the tune of musics to determine if they're gd or bad and I hardly listen to the lyrics. Thx for telling me man or I'll have looked like a fool. ^^ This song rox!

  • Even though this song is considered Christian, I do not think it's only intended for the Christians to listen, I think Switchfoot wanted even the non-believers out there to hear this... if you think about it, it seems like this song is applicable to everyone... I really do love this piece, it put me in tears several times

  • very Good christian song...

  • I love this song so much <3

  • I LIKE this song

  • The Leavers at my school went out to this song at their last assembly. Half the school was in tears.

  • man...this sOng is killing me...

  • man! i love this song! thank you!

  • i went to their concert in malaysia...it was magic!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dont quite get wats up with the guy running

    i luuuuuv the song

it has a great meaning and i love it sooo much!

  • The guy is trying to run against the flow and not being like everyone else... As its is written "Do not conform to the standards of this world" I hope you got my point...

  • thats wat i thought at first

    thanks!

    i get it now

  • I think it's meant to mean something like everyone who's running the other way are just the rest of the bad people in society and the guy finally decided to 'move' over to the right way. Or something similar. Just my opinion.

  • oops sorry, someone already said that.

  • amazing lyrics bautiful song

  • luuuv it <3

  • it`s cool!!!!!

  • Which is the must famous Switchfoot song? the most popular/highly rated one?

  • I think Dare You to Move is still their most popular song. Meant to Live and Stars are not far behind.

  • which comes first, this video or the one with drowned boy?

  • this video was the first one.

  • i think this video is more creative

  • haha, I'm a huge Switchfoot fan, and this song was the one that got me into it. Both video versions of this song are good. This one kinda symbolizes 9/11 I think. Everyone running away from the smoke down the crowded streets, and one guy decides to go against the grain and make a difference. Pretty much, he moves.

Plus, I know the guy in this video. His name is Cory, he's a worship leader at my church and he's in one or two other music videos and a bunch of commercials.

  • original video is way better

  • what movie trailer? i heard it on the trailer for Twilight!

  • bombheadofdoom i totally agree, this video isn't anywhere near as good as the first one. all you see is a guy running, he doesn't really do anything.

  • In all honesty this video sucks compared to the other one. The original video for this song one of the best music videos ever made in my opinion.

  • If this is not the best song ever is very close to it

  • wow this is a totally different music vid than the other one

  • dude, this song like rocks my world

  • this song's nice

  • sobra lupit switchfoot tlga

and oh!i just love the song's message and how the foot(guys) look in this video..

i luv it when romey kinda swings his guitar..

    jon tapping his feet..

tim rockin' out with the bass

and chad just smashing those drums..

    awesome

  • this is a awesome song!!! but i like meant to live better

  • hey, its not too late to change yourself! :) and whatever you are man, the Lord LOVES you more than anything!!!!!!:)

Picture this: The universe is SO huge we aren't even able to see a TRILLIONTH of it yet, let alone the whole thing. The Lord holds all that in his HAND. imagine how big he is. Imagine how tiny we must be to him. Yet he LOVES us! He actually CARES about us! And he paid the price for all of our sins! THINK ABOUT IT. Think how lucky we all are!:)

  • this song seems like a baby should be born

  • yeah maybe, but dude, it is SO much more than something like that:)

  • where do you have god in this song...?

  • In my opinion, this song is based on the day of the Lords return. I believe it is also based on strength and faith. Believing the Lord can do anything!:) and boy am I glad that he can!

  • it cn be anything really

    ur perspective on it...

doesnt have to just be one way

  • switchfoot shines for God's glory! :)
