If you guys really like the Vines then you shouldnt compare them to other bands or say they're a rencarnation of of former band...they are their own band and make their own king of music
@madambuttahfly Yeah I mean, all the comparasions with Nirvana started because of the media to make it more exciting, especiaally NME...The Vines have a few grungy influenced songs, but anyone who has his own brain can tell they are original, they have The Vines sound that I recognize everywhere. Anyway it seems to me that everyone is compared to Nirvana these days. And Craig wasn't even such a big fan, it wasn't his favourite band. Sometimes he didn't even mention them as inspiration.
@crazybasslady Nme sucks, they only care about commercial shit that has to be british...they don't like the vines, because they couldn't get craig especially that he smashed an nme journalist's tape recorder.Craig is true, nme is fake, that's why this combination doesn't go together too well.
Well, Craig loooved the Beatles, so maybe that's why it sounds influenced by them. Even the cover looks like it draws inspiration from Sgt Pepper. Still, this is completely original and demanding, but awesome.
Ok. Somebody respond to this comment. Should I or should I not buy the new album? Should I get the whole thing, or just the most popular songs? I ask this because the Vines tend to be kind of repetitive (I STILL LIKE THEM A LOT, SO DON'T FLIP OUT AND START CUSSING AT ME) and I don't want to waste cash on music I already basically have.
BUY IT! i dont think they're repetitive at all! :( they sing about all and different kinds of things. buy buy buy ^_^ lol although you prolly wont now hey x
They are really repetitive. I feel that The Vines have sort of lost the plot now, and they've lost their kick, but Get Out and a couple others like this song are alright.
Buy the whole album .... The Beatles had a sound that they repeated and they are still the biggest band in the world. The Vines are the shit !!! BUY THE ALBUM, it rocks .... Screw what everybody else says ... Just listen to it and you will agree ...
I've just been listening to all these songs off Melodia. And...as a Vines fan, these don't live up to the stuff off Highly Evolved and Winning Days. If you want to buy albums, get those.
dont waste cash on music EVER, DOWNLODAD! DUH! why support the rich asses? why pollute environment with more CDs? why waste cash on music when you can download it?
Buy the whole album, support the artist. Check out the new Toyko! trailer by Michel Gondry, he directed some of The Vines videos earlier in their career.
It's strange people like NME convict The Vines of being repetitive and yet treat bands like Oasis like Gods for doing the exact same thing.
As for the Vines, I agree their music is samey, but at the end of the day, if the record ain't broke, don't fix it! I for one can't get enough of 'Get Out' even though I've listed to Vision Valley a thousand times already.

You're better off just downloading the standouts.
That's what I'm doing
