soviet socialists and national socialists (nazi's) collaborated widely in the 1930's but history is always written by the victors and the Soviets did a very good job covering it up.
The point is that UPA fought for a free Ukraine, ...and because this freedom included freedom From Russia, I can see why Russia doesnt like it. But screw them, they can name streets in their own country and will probably censor any attempts by foreign media to cover the story because Russia is a fascist dictatorship
@koshovey The UPA butchered tens of thousands of Polish civilians, and terrorized its own population in the same way as the Soviets and Nazis did. After a while most people were desperate to be rid of it. But of course, you only remember the part of history that you like, what you don't like you cover up. Turd.
yes. I respect some russian people who became great, but Ukraine has much more heroes and great people than russia, so why wouldn't Ukraine name streets by the names of Ukrainians, not russians? typical russian kremlin bullshitting propaganda.
@Nazik2008 Is propaganda a trendy word today? I see it in almost every Russia-related post on yt. Do you think using it makes you look smart? It does not, I can tell you.
Can you explain to me what's so great about naming streets after Stepan Bandera, whose army tortured and butchered tens of thousands of Polish civilians? When Russians respect Stalin everyone says they're crazy, but when Ukrainians do it everyone thinks that's totally cool. Something's fishy out here...
You cannot have free media when the country is controlled by former KGB officers. They do a good job with the propaganda though. But I think most people in the West understand that "Russia Today" TV is coming straight from the Kremlin.
People, the problem is not with ukraine per se, or especially the ukrainian people, it's the nationalist nazi sympathizers and history revisionists in power like Yuschenko, Timoshenko and their dogs. It's very sad that western countries give them support. Can't you see that they're for democracy in name only? Banning the use of Russian EVERYWHERE, glorifying nazis, stealing oil... very democratic, yes?
The west has always tried to make Ukrainians fight with Russians and vice versa , those Slavs should wake up and realize that, you have differences, sit down and solve them between you, don't let outsiders stick there noise in.
Russia and Ukraine are two different countries they shouldn't bother with each other internal affairs unless it affects their own respective national security or economy.
It's indeed ukraine relies mostly on russia for gas and oil and they paid for it however renaming streets in ukraine is ukraine business and therefore russia shouldn't interfere.
I was born there and im embarassed by the fascists/nationalists. The center of the city even had nazi flags once handing on the oprah theatre. This is not "all propaganda." This is all Ukraine's presidents falt. I cant believe how bad Lviv is becoming.
What the hell are you talking about? There was never any Nazi flags in Lviv except save WWII when Germany occupied Western Ukraine. I was Born in Lviv as well so dont spread these lies. Lviv is the heart of Ukraine, and it never had any nazi flags hanging from the opera.

Fourth Reich, pardon, European Union is doing all of this. What Hitler tried with war, modern nazis do it with peace.

You know the Russian czars use to live in Ukraine way before Moscow was ever built. Ukraine has a long history as being a part of Russia.
I guess the soviet life wasn't too fun for the nationalists... Assholes :)
