  • why are the top comments the same?

  • @LiquidSoapNL 'cause they saw your ugly mug.

  • Im here becouse of this vid

Is this anything like Barrichello's Imola 1994 Crash? (F1 2011)

  • Any1 came from top gear?

  • How did his car just launch in the air???????

  • @superkryp13 Hit the apex... hard.

  • @thelammingman ohhhhhhhh thanks

  • @superkryp13 he fired his rocket booster to early!

  • @OZZl3 lol theres always that possibility lol

  • 3 accidents in 1 race weekend...2 of them fatal...1 legend, dead.

  • watching his head snap forward TWICE!! thank god for HANS devices these days!

  • god took senna and gave us beiber .... what a fuckup

  • I'd never drive another car again

  • When seeing this crash I always think that H.A.N.S. is a big big step of making the Formula 1 more secure.

  • 1994 Sucks:

    Barichello's huge crash

    Senna's death :(

    Ratzenberger's death :(

    justin beaver born :(

    Kurt Cobain died ;(

  • I HATE IT WHEN THE TWO TOP COMMENTS ARE THE SAME !!!

  • survived?

  • @emillokemotocross Yeh, "Rubinho" is still driving in F1, actually he has holds that record of most racers driven/participated....but it might be that his 19th season in F1 might be his last, and that he drives his last race in his home GP in Brasil 3 weeks from now. Williams doesnt seem interested to keep Barrichello any longer, he will most likely be replaced either by Kimi Raikkonen (who is most likely returning to F1 after 2 years break) or Adrian Sutil.

  • @Balnazzardi ok :)

  • I never saw that crash. Sweet Jesus...

  • FUCK U IMOLA.

  • one question, if his crash was worse than Ratzenberger's and Senna's, then how come he didn't die?

  • @lotto77102

    Extreme luck, I guess.

  • @lotto77102 barrichello had luck and he didnt hit a concreed wall like senna and ratzenberger

  • It's easy to forget now that Rubens was second in the world championship at this point. He was the only other driver besides Schumacher to finish in the top four and the points in both of the first two races. I think it was the highest a Jordan driver ever sat in the world championship (after more than one race). Obviously that isn't the important issue and it's a miracle that Brazil didn't lose both its greatest driver and its youngest new star that weekend.

  • Allot of people don't realise just how lucky we are to see Rubens on the grid in 2011.

  • How did he not died? O.O

  • He has the worst crash of weekend and only ends up with broken nose and arm wow

  • watch how much his head wobbles around in the slowmo replay...

could have easily broken his neck

  • from 270 km/h to 0 in 1.5 sec.!

  • They worked out that if Rubens had been going 4mph faster he would have gone over the tyres and through th catch fencing...into the grandstand

    Luck...nothing else, just pure luck

  • I can't believe Rubens survived this mess...he's trully bron under the lucky star it seems

  • Now there's a lot of run off area at all the circuits.

  • Wtf is wrong with Imola. Everyone seems to crash terribly there

  • @giriisindahouse yea, power circuit, no adequate run-offs . seems a jinxed circuit .

  • He didnt just survive, he was abled to race again?! thats one in a 1000

  • Just think. If he had been launched just inches higher, he would have flown into the catch fence.

  • Was this before or after Senna's fatal crash?

  • @rohgenextfan before

  • @rohgenextfan n Before, happened in Friday's practice session. Ratz died the following day in qualifying, Senna died the next day during the race. A sickening weekend .

  • @rohgenextfan before i Believe

  • he was such a lucky man

  • The weekend when F1 was ended for me...

  • Worst weekend of F1 ever.

  • the start of the black weekend

  • 1994 Sucks:

    Barichello's huge crash

    Senna's death :(

    Ratzenberger's death :(

    justin beaver born :(

    Kurt Cobain died ;(

  • @piuthemagicman indeed :(

  • @piuthemagicman Well said my friend!!!!!...big big big fan of all u mentioned ...except Justin Beiber

  • @EVLGTR thanks :)

  • 1994 sucks as well...Michael Jordan wasnt in the NBA

  • @piuthemagicman

    dont forget hakkinens major crash.

  • @001blackhole I forgot about that and I'm from Finland wtf. :o

  • @piuthemagicman Also Estonia : "The car ferry MS Estonia sinks in the Baltic Sea, killing 852 people." -wiki

  • @OZZl3 Yup I forgot about that and it happened close to me because I live in Finland :p

  • Yea 1994 sucks:

    Barichello bad crash

    Senna dead

    Ratzenberg dead

    Justin bieber born

  • @kevobuddy10 actually Ratzburger died 1 day BEFORE Senna!!!!!!

  • The last great era of F1 died at Imola...

  • Comment removed

  • What is Imola's problem with Formula1.No wonder it is not in the f1 2010 game

  • Wow! What a crash! His seatbelts must have hurt his ribs a bit as they fought to keep his body tight in that seat!

  • I just couldn't believe what I was watching, First Barrichello in this horrific crash, Razenbergers crash coming from nowhere, then my boyhood hero being taken from us. RIP, all taken far too soon.

  • @Factory051 It looks like Imola is a deadly track to race on!

  • @Factory051 I remember watching it too and it was just one jaw-dropping event after the another. You just had the feeling that there was more to come after Roland's death. It was relentless, a truly shocking weekend .

  • "Ei paha"

  • "Ei yhtään paha"

  • I always thought this was Ratzenberger's crash. Horrific crash.

R.I.P to both Ayrton and Roland.

  • look his hea.going like BANG!!

  • This race should never have happened

  • imola is the worst gp ever for me

  • Barrichello is a freakin' lucker!!

  • 1994 sucked, glad i was only 2 so i didn't have to experience it.

  • This weekend was CURSED; the most wretched Grand Prix weekend in history.

  • fuck me that actually looked worse than sennas

  • It's terrifying how close we got to burying three drivers that weekend.

  • @PassiveSmoking well they say things happen in three's such horrible weekend it should have been canceled...

  • @Tamura19740312 fuck u, dont have any other words to use.

  • @Tamura19740312 yo uare a cunt

  • Brutal crash..

  • If they hadn't managed to rescue Barrichello, it would have been a hat trick of deaths in Imola.

    What a nightmare F1 weekend.

  • He survived this crash, but the Marshals were a bunch of cowboys. They just saw a guy crash at 135+mph and get barrel rolled a couple of times. What they did was just manhandle the car back onto it's wheels and lucky Barrichello was unconscious because no one supported his head or body when car slammed down on it's wheels. They could have killed the idiots.

  • Incredible that he survived that crash. Very lucky man

  • look 1994 season was horrible

    Barichello big accident

    Senna and Ratzenberger dead

    and Wendlinger near dead

  • Worst day ever in F1 :(

  • Milagre não ter morrido, dá pra ver o pescoço do cara todo mole batendo no cockpit... :XXX

  • just think if he hadn't hit that tire wall how much worse it could have been

  • i know he survived and all, but seeing that crash is still horrific, especially seeing his head move around so much

  • The telemetry of the car showed that he exited the corner at 139mph, when he should of been doing about 120mph. If was going faster, he would of gone higher, probably through the catch fence, and into the spectators. Hard to think about what could of happened.

  • i think if it weren't for his car taking off and him being so high up their would have been 3 deaths at imola in '94

  • First who visited him in hospital was Senna! And .... :(

  • Someone should tell him that its not an airplane:P

  • Unbelievable, he survived that. AND he's faster than the stig. XD

  • that has to be one of the most dangerous Grand Prix weekends in F1 history

  • @04Wenban

    ...dangerous?

    LETHAL, you mean.

Just bare in mind that after THAT weekend, F1 security standards in general (and especially considering racing automobiles) had a dramatic change to the better. In some twisted way, those accidents/deaths contributed the most, considering raising security standards in any aspect : it's gone down to history as the last fatal Grand Prix in F1, up-to-date...

  • @washcloud I agree along with the Alex Zinardi Indy Crash this race weeked changed motorsport safety alot

  • Me indigna ver que ninguém foi responsabilizado por esse Final de semana de merda em Imola, uma pista cheio de arnadilhas, sem nenhuma segurança.

  • fly beybe fly

  • that my friends... is an off.

  • Graças a Deus Rubinho sobreviveu a este gravíssimo acidente. E olhando bem, vemos que a pancada dele foi mais feia do que a que levou o próprio Senna a morte.

  • Worst crash of that weekend and he survived......wow....just wow.

  • One can't see it but Ratzenberger's crash was worse...

His impact was with 300 kph into a wall!

This one was probably around 150 kph...

  • @Dave9823 Worst crash that weeked? How about the two that died?

  • @Dave9823 SEE ROLAND RATZENBERGER OR THE AYRTON SENNA

  • @Dave9823 WOW WOW JUST WOW

  • His crash was worst than Ratzenberger's and Senna's...it's a real wonder that he survived this!

  • And because in until 1994 things were a lot different. Car were safe, not as today of course. But a false sense of security was in the air. Rubens and Roland accidents were taken as coincidences, not as safety issues. Until Ayrton accident changed everything.

  • I haven't any words...it's so incredible...the whell...the ecu...the only 2 chip that haved stored the information about the crash deleted by williams and renault...i have just one word...rip Ayrton!

  • it hit the curb and from then on it was a cruise missle.

  • it was f*ckin airbone! Thanks God not fatal.

  • indeed why didn

  • Rubinho é o cara!!

  • The safetycrew was there really fast, but they should've never flipped the car over, because of his possible neck injury.

  • Almost lost three drivers that weekend.

  • Rueben swallowed his toungue due the the sheer intensity of the hit, and the quick responce of the safety crew just saved him. Jesus what a crash....

  • In - fucking - deed!! talk about stop motion....I wonder what they calculated for G force on that so called (as the English say) shunt?

  • yes why didnt they cancelled it after ratzenburger died.. isnt that enough to cancel one grand prix or what? that was the worst weekend in f1 history.. if barrichellos car would have landed different it would be 3dead.. rip ratzenberger and senna and the many others dying in the decades before

  • WHY did they not cancel the whole event after that crash...

    one driver got injured and

    two died R.I.P.

    We will never forget you

  • Going on top of the barrier is probably what helped him. I think that is what helped deaden the impact.

  • poor race visitors ....they saw this horrific crash and the deaths of roland ratzenberger and senna...

  • This race should of been cancelled after Ratzenburgers death, it was way too dangerous and it took Senna's life.

  • Something was wrong that weekend... three serious accidents...

  • certo che...fino a 10-15 anni fa i circuiti facevano proprio paura

  • le macchine facevano schifo!!! a adesso stiamo tornando(con le nuove modifiche) a quei tempi!

  • poor guy

amazing how he survived it, you can see how much his head swaps around in mid air

    love f1

  • holy crap!

  • well this is one crash were rubens won't throw his steering wheel out XD

  • He was a very lucky man to escape that horrid weekend with such minor injuries. Roland and Ayrton weren't so fortunate.

  • you see alot of accidents where cars roll and spin etc, they are bad in themselves, but when the car goes from speed to a standstill in a short space of time damage really gets done! this is a massive accident, the car goes from high speed to 0 in a flash!

  • im not really familiar with f1 racing, did he die?

  • no he didn't

  • The medical team got to him quickly - a good thing cos he was unconscious and had swallowed his tongue.

  • no fortunately not. he is still driving for the Honda F1 Team

  • Jeez look at how his head moves on the replay.

Is Barrichello the last driver left who still drives in F1 from this race?

  • no, coulthard too... but he retires after this season... so maybe he will remain the only one- if he stay.

  • Coulthard didn't take part in this race; he was only brought in to replace Senna at Williams a couple of races later.

  • you´r right... I just thought he was another driver from those times... but it wasn´t the question... sry

  • I know barichello, and ratzenberger was the track but senna got problems with hims wheel.

  • Ye 1994 fucks:

    Barichello hard crash

    Senna death

    Ratzenberg death.

  • Also, don't forgot Weldinger's injury that removed him for the rest of the season.

  • It was the Imola track..

  • @Shadowhawk25

+ Lamy drove into JJ Letho's car, some spectators got hurt by the chunks

+ Alboreto's tire went off and hurt some mechanics

+ Verstappen's mechanics lost fuel over the car. A spark lit the wholse stuff up. Verstappen got away with grade-2 burnings.

  • @flanke14

Don't forget the really bad accident of Wendlinger (Monaco, coma of 3 weeks) and Lamy (testing, crashed outside the track borders in a spectator tunnel, probably the worst non-fatal accident in F1 ever, comparing to impact and how it could have played out in a race when there WOULD be spectators there.

Also, testing accidents of Jean Alesi en Lehto (Why Verstappen drove the first 2 races and Larini drove 2 races)

  • @OnePieceSanjiRobin the worst non-fatal accident I would consider Donelly´s accident in Jerez 1990 (broken legs, ribs, collar bone, fractured skull and bruised lungs) or Purley´s accident in Silverstone 1977 (highest G force ever up to 2003 - 29 fractures, his heart stopped six times)..

  • @Shadowhawk25 you forgot the other heavy crashes: Wendlinger (bad head injury), Montermini (broken ankle), Lamy (broken legs and wrist) plus heavy pre season accidents of Alesi and Lehto..broken leg of a track marshall in Suzuka, Verstappen´s pit fire in Hockenheim..etc.

  • @commanderkit i was just fine until i saw "Justin bieber's birth"

    i died 1994-2011

FK HIM U HAVE TO PUT HIS NAME IN THERE :(

  • Watched it all at the time - terrible

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong, he was the main driver for the Stewart team for the 1997, 1998 and 1999 seasons.

  • he always finished higher than teammate Irvine at Jordan, in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996.

  • That weekend was just terrible.. Like a curse on Imola that time

  • The thing about Imola is it's turns. The track itself isn't very fast on average, but there's alot of very high speed curves. If you have a tire/wing/whatever failure you're going straight into the wall.

    Unfortinatly

  • Oh my god, how his head moved. It looks like he broke is neck! Luckily he didn't and survived. Horror weekend.

  • Look at this head...

  • Really fucking great by the italian marshalls, they have tire walls there but nowhere else on the track, if they had more tire walls then maybe Roland Ratzenberger or Senna might have lived that weekend. That is the worst track for safety in the world.

  • I disagree, I still think that Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve is more dangerous. However, there is no denying that it was very dangerous.

A sad weekend it was for many...

  • aver cojones q alguien deje los comentarios en español pa q noa enteremos tos joder

  • Esto es un comentario en español XD

    SALU2

  • that is BAD

  • watch how his head moves. Good that he somehow survived!

  • This is still frightening to watch today. Such a terrible weekend that followed.

  • Imola 1994 was a horrible weekend

  • Horrific. I'm just getting into F1 now and I've decided I like Barrichellos

  • This is crazy. Barrichello´s crash was even worse than that of Senna but he survived. This was really a sad weekend. R.I.P. Ratzenberger and Senna.
