  • triple j! FTW!

  • stop talking about how "rise against sounds has change" just stop and listen to it. if u dont like it there is a great invention in the top right just click on that youtube button and u wont have to listen to it

  • Rise Against hasn't "Cleaned up their act" if anything, it's reverted back to a blend of The Sufferer and The Witness and Revolutions Per Minute. If you don't know what I'm referring to, shame on you. Either way, Rise Against's lyrics have NEVER changed, their still deep as ever.

  • yes... i do still believe in all the things i have stood by before... and that will never change... rise against, you never fail to find words that i can't ever find

  • mike brady's theme song

  • who really cares if they chaned i mean seriously all that matters is that its still rise against and they still have sick lyrics that never go wrong.

  • why do people have to argue on every single video here. why cant we just listen to the song. if you like it great thumbs up it or whatever, if you dont close the page, why should you stay if you dont like the music

  • Why isn't 'I Used to be a Teenage Anarchist' on the sidebar?' o:

  • Comment removed

  • Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?

    Against Me!

  • pitch is dropped than on the itunes

  • Listen to the lyrics.

"Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you up and on the front lines? Or at home keeping score?"

Cause, that's what we're doing, fighting over their new "sound" and whether it's good or not, mainstream or whatever. There's so much more we could do with our time, things that actually matter.

"Don't you remember when you were young?

And you wanted to set the world on fire?...

Because I still am and I still do."

    They said it all.

  • Changing of sound?? WHO THE FUCK CARES?? DO YOU HEAR THESE LYRICS?? ONE OF THE MOST POSITIVE/CONSCIOUSLY AWARE BANDS OUT THERE AT ALL RIGHT NOW. LISTEN! AND I MEAN REALLY LISTEN! WAKE THE FUCK UP AND PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR MESSAGE INSTEAD OF BITCHING THAT THEY SOUND DIFFERENT. BECAUSE THEY DON'T ANYWAYS!!! RISE AGAINST IS TRYING TO OPEN YOUR MIND!

  • the audio really isnt that great

  • of course their sound is gonna change... I know it changed but not yet have I found one single song by them that I haven't loved.... If music stayed the same, then people would get bored and by changing their sound they have successfully kept their old fans and gained a whole new group of listeners.

  • i quite like rise against's change their sound is a little bit lighter (which does slightly bother me) but i love the lyrics of this album, they seem so much deeper which i thought was impossible, especially when i think about appeal to reason and the sufferer and the witness.

  • Rise Against is one of my 10 favorite bands and on the new CD and I enjoyed a lot. It's great classical RA album, but maybe I was expecting something new. Otherwise, the CD is great, very good listenable.

  • @Eidaaam20 FUCK YOU. RA should be your FAVORITE band. lmao jkjkjk

thats a personal preference and its yours to keep. not my buisiness. :P

  • @republicking98 In all serious though, it should be his favorite band.

  • @FrescoDaMan i could....not dissagree with that X)

  • 20 people can't remember when they were young ,,, \m/

  • Ok, this dudes lyrics are seriusly wrong.

    1. They laid out the blueprints, they poured down a base

2.The cliche apathetic passed out on the floor

The trusting complicit who collectively ignore

Awesome song awesome band, thumbs this up so that the maker of this vid can see it and change the lyrics!

    Peace

  • @9Snowman1 no, why the hell does it matter? its not actually about architects Lmao

  • "do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire" TOTAL AGAINST ME! RIPOFF!! Listen to "I was a Teenage Anarchist". That lyric is the ENTIRE chorus. How could Rise Against not know that...?

  • @mcrsnumb1

Umm, I'm pretty sure that Rise Against are aware of that. I think it's a dig at Against Me for abandoning radical politics and embracing liberalism whereas Rise Against have never wavered in their beliefs.

  • @mcrsnumb1 how can you not get that those lyrics are a reference to Against Me! and not a ripoff? You are stupid.

You could even say they're bashing Against Me! in this song. Listen to the lyrics, or read them if you like, and then come back.

  • @Filbunkish They aren't bashing Against Me! They're nodding in respect to the band. Why are you over reacting so much? I suppose you're mad that they use certain recordings in their music aswell? I suppose you don't even like the band? Why are you even here? You're bashing on Rise Against more than they're bashing Against Me! (Which they aren't doing). You're getting annoyed that a band (I hope) you like had some of its lyrics used in another bands song? Act your age, not your shoe size.

  • @EoinFarow I don't think they're nodding in respect. Not if you listen to the rest of the lyrics. But maybe that's just me. And read again, I'm not getting annoyed that they used some of AM!'s lyrics in their song. The guy that I responded to with my message was the one getting annoyed because of that. Which was why I even bothered to respond in the first place.

And I like both AM! and Rise Against. I don't know why you would think that I don't.

  • @Filbunkish I'm glad to be talking to someone with some intelligence for the first time however I really think they're nodding to AM!. The way they say "There are no heroes left here anymore" etc, is a very fair point on Tim McIlraths side and when he uses Against Me!'s lyrics I think he's just saying something along the lines of "These guys know what they're talking about, listen to them."

  • @EoinFarow Yeah, maybe you're right. But when they sing "Our heroes, our idols have mellowed with age. Following rules that they once disobeyed. They're now being led when they used to lead the way" it seems to me they're saying that AM! simply gave up on their ideals. But then again, that's just one way of seeing it.

  • I absolutely love this album. Endgame and Appeal To Reason have shown me just how political Rise Against is. Most people don't realize it because they don't pay attention to the lyrics. This album is incredible ranging from 9/11 to the quakes in Haiti to the BP oil spill. This album talks about how the world is falling apart and we're the cause. Personally Make It Stop (September's Children) is my favorite song because it's the only song I've hear that takes into account the children who's live

  • alle die so was scheiße finden sind dumm ,den es ist geil ;D

  • @2011Happytreefriends so you see everyone else here speaking english yet you think we will understand you

  • Just so everyone knows, Rise Against actually aims to change their sound. They want to constantly challenge themselves by evolving and doing things they haven't done before. Joe Principe talked about it in a phone interview about Endgame.

  • @piddluugea well they failed. YThere are about two songs on every new album now that I actually like. Whereas revolutions per minute I loved every song.

  • @TheDirtball69 I find that interesting because Revolutions Per Minute was my least favorite album by them. I have every other album in its entirety except for that one. It's not Rise Against that failed, it's your taste in music that doesn't agree in the direction they want to head. That's like basing an album on how it compares to other albums. You can't do that for any band because bands change over time.

  • @TheDirtball69 It all comes down to the individuals preference. I happen to enjoy a lot of their music from all albums.

  • Alright, after listening to most of this album, I've changed my mind. Some of these songs are good, and overall this is a much better RA album than the past two. This band's got a long way to go before it can match RPM or SSotCC though.

  • how is this any different?

  • i dont care what genre of music RA do as long as they keep their meaning full lyrics

  • Don't you remember when you were young, and you wanted to set the world on fire?

What, are they taking a page out of Tom Gabel's book? Thats almost exactly the same lyrical line in "I was a Teenage Anarchist"

  • @TehAwesomeness haha i noticed that too...who cares though? tim and tom are two of the greatest songwriters in punk history.

  • @TehAwesomeness Should be called "Rise Against Me"

  • i think its about, talking a poo, and not holding back, getting all of it out

  • @2304jake FUCKING LMAO. JUST LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO

  • man they crystallized my thoughts in that song. all of our leaders have been puppets to their parties and nothing more. what ever happed to people like Theodore Roosevelt who ignored his party and went on to do great things and without a doubt was one of the greatest men who EVER set foot in the white-house. i pray for a leader who has the balls to be great.

  • this is bad quality but it sounds great still as its Rise Against. But get the high quality Stuff and they sound so awsome

  • 503 people know real music when they hear it!

  • @FurtheringPhilosophy actually i think its about creating your own destiny and if you choose to think that its all just going to happen at some point then you would pretty much be denying what you could be doing with your life and those that do change the flow of their lives thats what could create something not just sitting around and this is my opinion...

  • i think this song is about the haters who question Rise Against's change in style. "Do you still believe in all the things you stood by before", "our heros and icons have mellowed with age", "Now being led when they used to lead the way (how some say mainstream media now control what they do and sing)".

  • This version is different to the album version I think, Tim sings higher on the AV

  • "Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?"

"I was a teenage anarchist" Reference?

  • i have this album on napster and it doesent sound like this

  • love this song

  • HeavenKnows002 DELETE THIS COMMENT SECTION! THESE PEOPLE ARE ALL THUMB WHORES AND CANT STOP ARGUING! I CAME TO LISTEN TO MUSIC, NOT HEAR 500 BULLSHIT CRAPSTORMS! I DONT GIVE TWO FUCKS ABOUT WHAT YOU LIKE, THIS IS MY COMPUTER AND I DONT WANT THEM AND THEIR DUMBASS OPINIONS ON IT! DELETE THIS COMMENT SECTION!

  • @republicking98 Would that not be an opinion?

  • @republicking98 This isn't Playlist. Buy the song if you feel like whining that a PUBLIC website has a song for free, a website that has always had the option to comment on other people's videos. If you don't want to read the comments, don't scroll down, least of all post your own comment.

  • i thought this day would never come... Rise Against are back and better!

  • Highly concidering buying album soon :D

  • @brimbles72 BUY IT

  • WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ANYONE TO SEE THAT BANDS CHANGE! THATS WHAT THEY DO. SO IF YOU DON"T LIKE THIS SONG OR LIKE THE OLD RA BETTER, STOP COMPLAINING AND GO LISTEN TO THE OLDER STUFF.

  • Sounds like shit, if you want some good RA listen to Chamber the Cartridge or Blood to Bleed. None of this Post-Sufferer and the Witness shit.

  • Is this song paying a tribute of some sort to against me! Or calling them out over teenage anarchist? Maybe not the whole song but definitely the one part

  • @koreyrudd I'd say it's calling them out.

  • yay against me quote!!

  • love it!

  • Everyone has to admit this song is putten first because its the best one in the album.

  • everyone always complains that sounds change...who cares. if it sounds good it sounds good. PLUS, Rise Against's lyrics NEVER fail. something, on one song or another always gets to me.

    Rise Against

    FTW FTW FTW FTW FTW

  • ok kids everyone rarely sticks to their original sound. Music is all about adaption to the times. Blink, green day, sum41 was extremely rough and punk first out of the gate but now their music has a much neater flow to it since its become popular. What is mainstream now was not mainstream a decade ago. I would even agree that "generic music" changes every two years. So cry if you must but this is rise against. nothing you say will change that.

  • @studder58 tbh, i completely agree. rise against cannot please everyone, and this song HAS to be one of their best sons so far, so adapt with the band people, or find another band RA FTW, (thought id add tht to show support for them)

  • @studder58

    Amen to that brother!

I love this band, they sound more like themselves every album they put out.

  • @studder58

    Amen to that brother!

I love this band, they sound more like themselves every album they put out.

If you think that the opener (this song) on the album doesn't sound like rise against...

  • @studder58 Exxcactly. Im 15...i really wasnt too crazy about RA's old albums...and yet im addicted to this one.

  • @Vashie0 werent too crazy??? Don't even listen to them then you poser because these new albums are crap when compared to the old ones.

  • @TheDirtball69 Hahaha your funny. Im the poser and your the one trolling on there album. No, faggot, its called personal taste. Now gtfo, and find another fuckin band to listen to if you cant accept there music. Did i ever say their older albums were bad? No, they were great. There were quite a few songs that i liked, but as an album all together, it wasnt my style. k? byefucker.

  • @studder58 i love Green Day :D idc if they change, bands do that! Deal with it

  • @studder58 i actually dont listen to green day anymore. they changed too much. i would like rise against even if they played old german folk songs. idc.

  • @studder58

you fucking fail bro. You mentioned blink 182, green day and sum41 in the same category of rise against.

you obviously never listened to rise against when they were on fat wreck. so stop kissing ass. and you're saying okay 'kids.' trust your own judgment, but the 'kids' that your referring to were those who listened to r.a on fat wreck and not on geffen.

  • @studder58: That's one of the things that I love about Rise Against, honestly. Some say they're rock, some say punk, some even say alternative, but i say all of the above. They bounce around genres too much to be labeled with a specific one, but really it doesn't matter. Let's just sit back, plug in our headphones, put on a great song (and band), turn up the volume loud enough to not hurt your ears and ROCK THE FUCK OUT OF YOURSELF AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU!!! <3

  • Great band.

  • 00:00 <--- replay button!!

  • amazing song

only thing i dont like is Don't you remember when you were young?

And you wanted to set the world on fire? cause it was in I was a teenage anarchist

  • This song rocks.

  • Rise Against has done it again. This song is Definitaly in my top 3 by them, maybe even my favorite. it has a great meaning, and it really reaches to me. Rise Against has been the best for years, and they continue to claim their spot at the top with Endgame. Nice job guys (:

  • 16 other people want me to architect their face

  • I love Rise Against. Such powerful lyrics.

  • The entire lyrics of the song refer to a time when people wanted to go out and change the world, instead of just giving up. One of the biggest problems with Against Me! (and I love them), is that they suddenly went from this underground punk band to 'Teenage Anarchist'. I understand changing the way music sounds over time, and I can't fault them for that. But in an age where governments constantly undermine the little people, we can't just sit back anymore. We need those young anarchist views.

  • @Str7k3r As if Rise Against has any room to talk about selling out?

  • @Bdizzleyootoob Never said anything about selling out. Whether you believe it or not, Rise Against still sings about what the really care about. And the meaning in their songs hasn't changed much from Album to Album. Being popular and big, is not the same thing as changing the message.

  • @Str7k3r Against Me! hasn't really changed their message if everyone would stop fucking relating everything about them to one song people might realize that.

  • @Bdizzleyootoob I still love AM!. Just sharing my thoughts is all. They're my top played artist, and White Crosses/New Wave have definitely gotten a fair amount of those plays.

  • @Str7k3r Yeah, I completely understand, and in my opinion, New Wave wasn't that bad of an album, but White Crosses was a little so-so decent. I'm just annoyed when people are comparing Rise Against and Against Me!, saying that Against Me! has sold out when Rise Against had done so before them.

  • @Bdizzleyootoob Yeh, I hear ya. Either way, Endgame is still a pretty awesome album. Been on repeat all week :D

  • @Str7k3r Not too much of a fan of their new music, it'll probably grow on me.

  • @Str7k3r Do against me not sing what they believe in ? Peoples opinions change over time and you can't call someone out because of that. Tom gabel wrote walking is still honest when he was 17, he's in his 30's now. Rise Against are a much bigger band than Against Me! anyway.

  • @cheifcanoob You're right man. I know Rise Against is a bigger band. All I'm saying is, they haven't really changed their sound from album to album. Yeh, people have a right to change, and like I said, I still love AM!. I will buy anything they put out, and next time they are here, I will definitely be going to their show. Perhaps like the song, I feel deep down, Tom still wants to set the world on fire. But getting more people to vote definitely won't hurt. Anyway, both bands are still awesome.

  • @Str7k3r you have to agree that they're losing the punk sound though...

  • 13 Peoples architects f'd up

  • To all the comments about the connection between Against Me! Yes, the lyrics are almost verbatim. There was one comment asking if it was a dis? No, in my eyes it was not a dis, reason, Tim seems to be more so saying throughout the whole song, and that quote, that he wants things they way they were when him and his friends all cared about the same things and wanted better. I find myself in the same dilemma as my friends views have all change as have mine though, so I understand the message.

  • Just my interpretation, though I could be wrong. Anyone with further incite feel free to comment positive or negative I love equal sided discussions.

  • "Don't you remember when you were young

And you wanted to set the world on fire?"

Umm.... Against Me! "Teenage Anarchist?" Was that Intentional?

  • um... oh no.. no....no no no.... i broke the replay button

  • endgame redefines so motherfucking amazing that its unreal

  • @liberalmike1994 Think its "trusting complicit", but I'm not sure

  • :S i love RA.... btu this album is a bit of a disappointment :S

  • This song is sooo fucking good.

  • This song is bad quality. The audio is quite and fairly fuzzy. Where did you get the file?

  • The first four albums were AWESOME, Appeal To Reason sucked, Endgame is just a re-hash of ATR...Do yourselves a favour and listen to Revolutions Per Minute instead.

  • first 4 song off end game are boss

  • just bought their Cd yes a fuckin Cd, the first cd i bought since 3 years who knew they still made those, hunted for it like a crazy motherfucker. my only regret is I wont be able to see them live in Sydney as i wont be here in the summer ahhhhhhhh!!!

  • End game comes out three days before my Birthday! I know what im spending my birthday money on.... :)

  • New album is so fucking good!!

  • The voice is lowered. Maybe to protect it from being banned from Youtube. Sounds like coughing. The original version is much more "lighter".

  • 1 Person dont deserve do live

  • finally the full version!

  • Intro -> Freakin Awesome

    Song -> Piece of Crap

  • @Loreal4me you -> fucking retarded.

  • 1 Person needs to die

  • "And all you remember when we were young

How we wanted to set the world on fire"

^ Against Me! reference I believe. Anyway great song.

  • rise against's new album "endgame" is obviously singing about anti-illuminati/ corrupt government take this song for example... "Make no mistake we are not afraid

To bear the burden of repeating

    What they're thinking anyway

    LET'S RAISE THE STAKES"

theyre telling us to rise against government and take life into our own hands... government is trying to control us... RISE AGAINST AND SPREAD THE WORD!!~ besides my little warning, i love th song and i want to burn the world down too.

  • Don't you remember when you were young? And you wanted to set the world on fire. Reminds me of I Was A Teenage Anarchist by Against Me!

  • @seduction1001 1st the worst 2nd the best buddy

  • Sorry to break the Rise Against masturbation trend going on here but... They've really done the same thing each album... Not to say this isn't good, but I've already shelled out money for Appeal to Reason, I don't much feel like doing it again...

  • @tschooms cunt

  • @tschooms cunt

  • @tschooms You haven't listened to each album. That's the only logical explanation I can draw from your statement. I assume you have never heard a song from The Unraveling. What similarities are you noticing between early Rise Against and new? This band has changed to the point where it's hard to classify their new stuff the same genre as their early work. What the fuck are you talking about?

  • @tschooms i really didnt like Appeal to Reason either, but besides that, i really do like most of their stuff.

  • 0 Dislikes = WIN

  • @TheFoodChannel6 cuz they're Awsome xD

  • This is great! Man, I wasn't very interested in the last record, because it sounded so lame to me, but this song reminds me of the old Rise Against I loved a few years ago....I have to buy this album!!!
