I watched The Princess Bride recently and thought it was brilliant, but If I'm honest I don't think it has that many memorable lines in it at all. I think that's why Cary seemed to struggle a bit there. Robin Hood men in tights is his funniest in my opinion with loads of memorable lines!

@nicoleb If I understood the story correctly, his contract said that if the film made X amount of money, they'd pay him X% of this amount, he rejected to be paid a "salary" and instead he agreed he would get a percentage of the film's profits (a lot of actors do that), but they paid him a lower percentage, breaking the contract's clause. I don't think anyone can go and sue a company just because you feel like you deserve more money, this would be dismissed immediately.

He pulled some shit out of his ass that wasn't in the contract, claiming he deserved more because the movie made more. The contract never said if the movie made X amount of money, he'd get paid more. It was eventually settled out of court, with "out of court" meaning they promised Elwes they'd pay him a shit-load if he acted in their contrived, $-chasing piece of shit, Saw 3D

@nicoleb If I understood the story correctly, his contract said that if the film made X amount of money, they'd pay him X% of this amount, he rejected to be paid a "salary" and instead he agreed he would get a percentage of the film's profits (a lot of actors do that), but they paid him a lower percentage, breaking the contract's clause. I don't think anyone can go and sue a company just because you feel like you deserve more money, this would be dismissed immediately.

This isn't gonna work. This script is utter crap." But he didn't. He didn't give two shits about that. Obviously in interviews he's going to say it was "for the fans." If he were honest and said "they promised me a shit-fuck of money that I didn't need," his fans wouldn't like him anymore.
