@adric137 No. The Velvets went to Michigan to see a Band, that sombody recommended to them. That would be the Stooges. Nico immediately made Iggy her boyfriend and took him to NY. Iggy himself said, that when he came back to Michigan, he'd become a lot meaner and was a junior alcoholic.
@adric137 As Billy Name put it: Nico seemed to go with every guy... for a period of time.[...] She just was that lackadaisical icon who would go from beautiful person to beautiful person because she couldn't really bear the mundanity of having relationships for very long. [...] The mundane world didn't interest her at all and she easily became bored [...] The nature of relationships as they had to play out were uninteresting to her - but she liked to love people.
Not sure, i saw part some parts of it, looks like the same documentary, i have it on my list for christmas presensts, after that i know fore sure;-)) i let you know!!
Iggy is the real deal. I think that's what intrigued Bowie about him so much. Imagine Bowie being around so many artsy fartsy flashy Londoners with their wild theatrical clothes and high fashioned hair do's which David became so invloved in during the 70's. Then he sees Iggy, a high school drop out from Ypsilanti Michigan whose fashion is a t shirt and jeans with a ripped body and a crazy raw stage presence. Bowie was hooked. Bowie' deserves credit for knowing the real thing when he saw it .
@Charleybones Jim Osterberg was not a highschool dropout. In fact, he was quite good in school. Everybody liked him and everybody expected him to become something great. He dropped out of University, where he studied Anthropology, AFAIR.
@pfmo5678ramone I share a bit of confusion with you, but I assume that the narrator refers to Detroit sound, of factories and industry in the backdrop of bands like the Stooges.
did Nico date Iggy Pop?

What he says about Nico is fun on one level, then beautiful and compassionate on another.
