I'm no scientist, but I understand the physics of the speed of light. In other words, by the time something has happened millions of years ago, the speed of light has just reached us to experience the event. Yet, black holes seem to suck in everything including light to become a black hole. Isn't it possible to find a black hole, and ride the light as it's being sucked into a black hole. In other words, don't chase the light, catch the beam from where it originated, and go back.

if all is true of this story... why ? Didn't the government confiscate all his notes, material, and work. Say at his house or where ever it was done. At that time it would of been a national security threat. They would of had the right to take it if they wanted. If that would of been obtained by say another source it could of been deadly to a mass degree ? ? ? ?

he sounded very convincing until he said "I can take you around the earth 8 times as fast as you can blink your eyes". (approx 5.30 mins in) now I don't know what the exact speed of an eye blink is, but I guesstimate it to be about .5 of one second. but lets say it's actually a full second, that still means you would be traveling faster than the speed of light. at the speed of light you could go around the equator of the earth 7.469 times in one second. busted david adair.

@jimbob1204 What makes you think the speed of light is the end of the frequency spectrum? As you know there are frequencies that are much higher than the speed of light. In fact I would be safe to say that there are likely physics in the universe that science has not yet approached, let alone understand. I would like to interview and investigate to ensure that this information is accurate.

@photopicker I don't think you're fully understanding Adair's statement and my reply. Light exists in many frequencies, most of which are not even visible to the human eye. but that doesn't change the fact that light no matter what frequency it is in still travels at the same speed. We do know the exact speed of light and nothing can exceed it. Especially a solid object like a rocket. Adair didn't say he fired a pulse beem of light, he said he fired a rocket. Listen to Hawking and Einstein.

@photopicker That is mostly correct. All EM waves travel at the speed of light constant (c) in a vacuum. The speed of an EM wave can be obtained by the equation v=fw , where v is the wave's speed, f is it's frequency and w is its wavelength. v is constant in vacuum (v=c), it all plays on the frequency and the wave's length; higher freq. waves have shorter wavelengths and lower freq. ones have longer wavelengths.

And ultimately it would be impossible for a solid object to travel at or beyond the speed of light. So I stand by my conclusion of David Adair's story. He is lying.

Well don't take his words in this interview too accurately, In my opinion he was just giving us a picture, he didn't calculate anything so he just assumed that light does 8 Earth Diameters in a second and that an average person blinks in 1.0 seconds... He wasn't boasting about faster-than-light travel but only that his rocket [had the capability of "light-speed" travel]..

@jimbob1204 Sorry, word limit... Well yes you are right, any solid object traveling closer and closer to the speed of light sees its mass increasing, since the object is accelerating. But I do not understand why you say the fuel consumption needed is infinite? Since we're just accelerating a body to a specific speed c, the force required is finite, and therefore so is the fuel/(energy) needed.

@photopicker Electricity moves at the speed of light as well. However, if you're talking about EM waves then you have to take into consideration that they may be passing through some type of a resistor to get the desired wave length. But I'm not talking about any type of EM waves, I'm simply stateing that the speed of light is 186,000 mps and that David Adair claimes he can take you around the world 8 times in the blink of an eye in his rocket . Do the math.

@jimbob1204 Resistance does not change the velocity of light it reduces the energy of the charge into a load. I was confused about the speed of light being a velocity rather than a frequency. I am curious how the velocity of light is affected by mediums other than vacuum. The visible spectrum is at a particular frequency but the velocity of photons is the speed of light. One last thought is that is where we are today.

Because I have never heard of any changes in the accepted theory of the speed of light. Possibly geting into black holes but not anyting else that I'm aware of.

@photopicker I have no information about Einstein being wrong about the speed of light. However I recently heard about a team of European scientists who claim that they have proved for certanty that nothing can exceed the speed of light. I don't remember who they were but I'm sure that info can be found. This can probably be debated forever.

You would need about 60,000 lb's of Ammonal explosive to make a hole the size of a football field. (300 ft). The top speed of a golf cart in 1970 was about 10 feet per second. I guess he forgot to do the math on that one.

@12gallonhat It didn't require 60,000 lbs of Ammonal to make that explosion. He put graphite grease into his engine. The graphite reacted with the deuterium to cause an explosion. His engine generates a HUGE amount of power because it uses FUSION (and the temperature/energy is so great it needs a magnetic field to contain it), so that would create a large explosion. He said they had a 60 second delay; cart travels 10 feet per sec x 60 sec =600 feet. The explosion was 300 feet. So the math works
