It's much easier to shoot the 3-6-10 by throwing very hard and straight. If you throw the hook into it (like Hoskins was doing), you risk having the ball slide too far on you (Hoskins' first attempt) and/or jumping early (10th frame attempt).

seems like most people want to practice throwing strikes but spares are where the money is in the long run in my opinion. if you can shoot spares the strikes will come. these guys are pros and i know if they can have trouble at times with spares then amatuers surely will.
