OMG. Rick zoomed in to the piece that fell to the ground....so adorable! hahaha. I would've done the same thing xD Great recipe, I'm going to try this out soon :)
I was looking for an "american way" to prepare choco-pop corn and here it is what I was looking for. Thank you! I think my girlfriend would like them very much!
i simply pop the popcorn, melt chocolate and dribble it all ove rthe popcorn and mix it.. its soooo yummy and when the chocolate is still warm its fun to eat sooo messy .. finger licking good
Hey Betty, Just made the popcorn. It's great! How do you think that topping would work for other things? Like chocolate covered prezels or even oreo balls.
Betty, have you ever tried White chocolate covered popcorn? I had some at a family gathering... and it was sooo good. I would love to see you demonstate a white chocolate, would you omit the coco, sugar, and soda and just use white chocolate morsals?
@IsirisLiDonno lol why? because he zoomed in on the dropped piece? i think he was doing that to be funny, and kinda lovingly tease her a little bit, as the camera man is her husband
hi, you mentioned cooking cocco. What's the difference ? i popped using a big pan. it turns out not crispy. is this right ? when i pour the syrup over the freshly pop popcorn, it strink the popcorn. Where went wrong ?
Thedarkesthourx, lol when did she use food coloring? lol...vanilla is a flavor extract, not a color lol...that's the only thing I can think you may be refering to. It changes color when you add the 1/4 tablespoon of baking soda lol
@TheDarkestHourx This would be great for Halloween. You could use white chocolate, and add a few drops of yellow food coloring and just a tiny bit of red food coloring to get a chocolate-flavored orange coating.
My sister means , " Hun er skikkelig pen!" that means, " she ( you) is verry pretty!" And bet me, she knows what she's talking about :-p Anyway, ur cooking is grate! I just tried the caramel popcorn 2 weeks ago and it tasted delicious! I have a sweet tooth :-P I also tried this one yesterday. I ate it whit my sister and a couple of friends, and suddenly!, all gone :-P THEY LOVE CHOCOLATE! Anyway, keep up ur good work! I Love it! :-D
wow just found you tonight.. I am going to check out some of your other videos. I am hopeing to find some good christmas recipes for cookie exchange. I was just wandering if i added some almonds or peanuts if that would be a good ideal with either of the popcorn treats? What do you think? Or even smarties for the kiddies??
Almonds or peanuts would be great for the popcorn treats (and smarties for the kids)! I have posted old fashioned sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, brown-eyed cookies, and 6 different sandwich cookies on bettyskitchen, if you are interested in searching for those. Thanks for your lovely comment!
is the popcorn salted? I noticed you used salted butter. I just didn't know if that was too much salt. Can I use either unsalted butter or just plain popcorn?
The popcorn was salted before it was cooked. It gives it a nice flavor in constrast to the sweet coating. If you don't want salt at all, you can use plain popcorn (but there was very little salt in the batch we made). Thanks for your question!
Hi again!!! Now that looked very yummy!!! And my birthday was a few days later (on the 9th of this month) I turned 27 so Maybe i'll make this for my friends one day! Is there a way to make it lighter?
What you can do to make it lighter is to use the lowest calorie microwave popcorn you can find, and spread your topping over 2 or 3 bags of poppep corn. Thsat way you'll get a taste of chocolate, but no big clumps. You'll feel like you had the real thing, but you're basically having popcorn! I hope this works for you; I've tried it and been pleased with it!
Hi! I'm sorry to be so late in answering! (YouTube problems this morning...) The milk is liquid. I'm from Central U.S.--the state of Kentucky! Thanks for your compliment on my accent! (And all of us want to talk like you!) Have a great day!
Mmmmm.... this looks so good! Nothing better than popcorn, a big fluffy blanket and curling up on the couch watching a good movie! :-) Perfect! Thank you for this wonderful recipe Betty! I hope all is well with you and yours! Big hugs to you!
1/2 stick of butter is 1/4 cup. I'm sorry I didn't give the cup measure--I wasn't thinking! I hope you enjoy this recipe. You know, if you make the coating, you can make it stretch a long, long way, so that you get the taste of it, but you're mainly eating popcorn, which you can fix in a healthy way! Thanks for commenting, Linda!
Oh! Thankyou Betty, I have made a note of that, actually I am sure you have stated how much a stick of butter is in one of your previous video's I just cannot think which video.
A little tast for me will be nice and a portion for my boys will be nice for them with some extra put into air tight container for later.
Thankyou for ALLLLL your WONDERFUL RECIPES AND HELP!

why is the chocolate not sticking to the spoon?
xcelcheerchick 4 months ago
@xcelcheerchick The amount of butter in the recipe. Actually you want it to stick to the popcorn, not the spoon, so it's a good thing.

@prettymel66 The brand of my stove is Dacor. You need to boil the cocoa mixture in order for it to stick and harden properly on the popcorn.
