i listen to death metal day in and day out, but this is just as beautiful. the tenor is world-class. if anyone who knows these guys reads this, tell them to keep doing what they're doing, because they're among the best.
Awesome song, awesome quartet. I think it was a style choice to go back to falsetto for the final chord and I think it worked out fine. Although it didn't kinda fake you out though didn't it? :)
Whoops, the term "low inversion" is not correct. It should be "low voicing" instead. It's actually a really really low Chinese 7th chord. Could have used more 7th from the Bari =)
On the penultimate chord he was belting his note because on that particular part of that chord the tenor should be heard pretty well and then on the third the tenor should be up and out. And Kip's the freaking MASTER so obviously he executed the entire song perfectly :)
Joe, keep 'em coming buddy. I would listen to ANY qtet you are in. The Society needs to get back to it's roots......I'm 31 BTW. I still remember the good 'ol days of the Suntones, Bills......Interstate Rivals...(sorry you're not that old...) Great stuff...
Jack is so good they named a bean after him.

I was playing this, and the overtones on the last two chords made both my dog and my cat go crazy.

1) Love the super-low inversion V chord at 1:45.
2) Is it just me or did Kipp tighten up a bit on the second to last chord which forced him to play it safe on the last chord?

@TempestTenor there is actually a very good reason for him to switch to falsetto on the last note, it has to do with overtones and harmonics

Does anybody have the Four Renegades (1965 champs) version of this to put up? It's much better than this one.

This is so awesome, Kipp back in another stellar quartet! Internationals is going to be crazy this year.
Hemicudap87 2 years ago
Is the audience dead? WOW...I mean..I would have been up on my feet after that tag...and this audience is horrible...
BryNet1028 2 years ago
The echo at the end of the verse (1:50) is from The Raps. Otherwise it's Buz Haeger's chart.

My God...International this year is going to be unforgettable. It will probably take an 88 average just to medal.
