  • Kakasabi lang ni Regine LOW makipagaway sa ibang fans. Hnd pa kau nadala. Do her a favor and ignore negative reactions.

  • DI NAMAN GANUN KA UNIQUE BOSES NI CHARICE. UMPISA PA LANG NG KANTA AKALA MO NANANAKOT NA. ACHIEVMENT? ALIN? OI MGA CHARINGGUTANS. SA PINAS NGA WALA XANG NAIAMBAG SA OPM NA KANTA. PYRAMID??? HAHA. MAKA INTERNATIONAL SENSATION KAYO NOH. KINABOG PA NIYA C LEA SALONGA SA ACHIEVMENT? MGA ILLUSYONADA AMBIXOSA BABU !!!!!!!

  • PROUD BEING A FILIPINO!!!!!!!!!!! GO IDOL.....

  • totoong tao that is why I really love her so much... thanks na rin kay charice kasi isa na rin sya sa mga tao na nagbpapabago sa pagtingin sa ating pilipino and to those young filipino singers being discovered in the international scene... be proud para dito nmn tayo imangat sa iba....

  • Those "charice" fans in america appreciated her mediocre talent in belting. Oh, sorry for the term MEDIOCRE - but let's be honest to ourselves, Charice is just a generic, mediocre singer in the Philippines and for that she could not even bag the championship in the singing contest. But anyways, charice fans are deluded for her (Charice) prowess in singing is but a faint reflection of her idol Regine - who is rare diamond in singing. Pity pity...

  • She is the only one self-made singing champion and no other. Others rely on their mangers and musical composers but she made her "own way" to the top.

  • @gentalkorion She did not. She actually needed the leverage of foreigners to get to the international scene. She was discovered by a Swedish recording company, promoted by American talk show hosts Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres and mentored by David Foster, a prolific Canadian composer. She also rose to fame singing songs by Celine Dion and Whitney Houston.

Her "own way?" She wouldn't even go international had she stayed in local recording companies such as Star Records or Viva Records.

  • what a beautiful person. :)

  • how i love channels like this - walang negatibo

  • ahhh sayang, imagine REGINE on the GRAMMYS establishing herself in the photo with LEGENDS such as MARIAH CAREY, WHITNEY, CELINE! ahhh. sayang!! we still love you though.

  • I love you ate regine,, it's like fame over patriotism,, siguro it's just not how famous you are but how good you are to others,, and how you have influenced them,,,

  • I really like this vid however on the video description, i think Regine said Hispanic. Not Spanish.

  • million thanx for posting....salamat talaga

  • In 1990, Cameron Macintosh Group, makers of "Les Miserables" and "Ms. Saigon" gave Regine a round trip plane tickets for a special audition in New York. Cameron Macintosh was so impressed that she offered roles for Regine and Jamie Rivera, but Regine declined the offer and stayed in the Philippines, because she felt that she didn't have enough stage experience and she was uncomfortable doing delicate scenes.

  • i oh so agree with all of the comments here...tama lahat ng sinabi nyo...go go go

  • guys dapat nanood kau ng 5 dekada (GMA News 50th anniversary)... Regine's millenium performance was featured there....

  • i am very proud of you regine....!!!!

  • just also notice kung baket hirap sha makapenetrate ng market sa pinas?it is because a singer like charice in pinas is just like a common singer here.and pinoys standards in singing and belting is too high, and the one who set that standard is regine, and charice' is not that much appreciated here in pinas because pinoys r still hearing a better singer than charice and that is regine.parang pag may bagong singer,i want to hear a better regine on you or probably offer a new thing na kahanga hanga.

  • @leotyan

Kumbaga sir, si charice generic lang yan dito sa pinas lol. Dami ako naririrnig na kaboses ni charice sa biritan, but i have never ever heard in my whole life who could ever sing quite like Regine. Mataas ang standards ng pinoy sa biritan eh at sa mga stage performances. You cannot even make the Filipino crowd give a standing ovation to performers due to their high expectations. (and maybe thats why Charice didnt even win in the singing competition here in the Philippines.

  • @leotyan

Only Regine can make the crowd go standing ovation. CVharice cant even convince Filipino judges to declare her champion in the singing competition .... that's why she tried her luck over youtube.. lol

  • to continue, do you think that if charice has that big body built or she's taller, she'll get notice by foreigners? of course not. she became a sensation because she has that kid like height, features and actions (considering she's already 15 or 16 when she was discovered) same age as jordin sparks and yet she can sing and belt. that would definitely get attention, plus theres youtube and just everything falls into place. i have nothing against her, im proud of her actually.

  • if you're pinoy and want to become an international artist, hindi lang nakasalalay sa talent. i acknowledge regines greatness, i can say that regine's talent can stand on the same level as barbra, mariah whitney and celine's or even better. but it is all about right timing, luck, appropiate looks to be notice and of course the talent. what happenned to charice is a combination of all, timing, luck, appropriate looks and talent. timing bec. there's technology, luck bec. of ellen, and she's .small

  • korek...un lang masasabi ko!!!

the best talaga c regine kung gugustuhin nya dapat dati pa cia nakapasok sa international...

  • "diba maganda si ms.regine... totoo yan! hahahahaha wala alng natawa lang ako, kasi my naalala ako. ng...... isa.... wala di na ako mag sasalita...... ayoko manglait bwhahahahahahah alam nyo na yun. kung sino man xa

  • Part 2:

Oonga at sikat nga ang mga artist ng America, pero dahil lang yon sa influwensya ng bansa nila. Dahil progressive country sila. Pero if you talk about the talent, and dami nilang talent na sucks kapag kumanta.

Dahil lang sa pera kaya nag kaka album. Pero over all mas talented parin ang mga artist natin.

  • The problem with us is that we dont just have colonial mentality..we have colonial taste. LOL! In one way or another guilty tayo diyan. But to say something that will give other nationalities the impression that we think so little of our OWN COUNTRY made me shiver.

The truth to this is that WE, FILIPINOS, ARE BETTER than them.

And IMHO, other countries have better artists than US-based "come and go" singers. LOL

  • @TheReginified

    right.

And I don't think it's the artists, it's the fans that are exagerating. It's always the people.

When their idol achieved this pedestal, they start comparing their idol with other artists saying "Oh she made it here in US, why didn't the other make it too? Does it mean she's a better singer?"

I don't get it, just because of the achievement? They think that their idol is the best. I don't want to name anybody. I'm just stating the truth.

  • Bakit ganon tayong mga filiipino? When it comes about America it always has to be a big deal? Ano bang meron sila na wala sa bansa natin.

So what kung hindi pinursue ni Regine ung American or sang lupalop mang career nya. Kung ganon naman pala ang trato sayo bakit mo ipag pipilit. Tama si Regine, my pride kasi sya at my respeto sa sarili.

The grass is not always greener than the other side, hindi porke malakas ang U.S. sa Pinas dapat mag alisan na ung mga artist natin.

  • san toh?? sarap naman makipagkwentuhan kay Regine lalo na pag tungkol sa boses at buhay nya...

  • speechless,no comment,,still the voice to beat all over the world!

  • All of what she's saying are excuses ,its not too late!! ,she is still very pretty and very talented .just go for it girl!! and stop the blah..blah...blah The world has shrunk so much already so it doesn't matter where ever you are.She has the entire package. She just needs to improve her communication skills a little bit more ,she needs to move/dance and she needs to learn how to deal with the internet and actively do it herself. The truth to this is that she got stuck in the Phil .

  • Right now, kaya lang pumwede na arnel and charice are called Filipinos ay dahil nanggaling na yun mismo sa mga naka discover sa kanila...I mean, the ones who have discovered them are already established icons kumbaga wala nang dapat patunayan pa... and arnel and charice were kind of "unknown" so to speak, so it's gonna be "something" to offer the WORLD. that's my thought about the whole thing..we're just lucky regine didn't leave us di ba...

  • i adore her for being so makabayan.. di nya na kelangang mapansin pa "there" bec ang mga taga "there" ang nakaka discover sa galing nya pag napunta dito at narinig sya hahaha.. no doubt na she's the best - or one of the very few who have got "the" power to belt out almost perfectly. in her case, marami n syang napatunayan ke malat pa speaking voice nya di ba..ke may ubo hahaha...the BEST 4 me!

  • I'm one of your silent fans but God know how much i loved and envied you from then until now, about the int'l career, i'm still hoping that you'll get there, though you're gonna be far from us I'm sure all the reginians will understand and will be very rpoud of you, I also hope that I'll have a face time with you someday, kahit picture together lang. When my American clients/friends visiting, i give them a copy of your album and they liked it, I'm very proud of u as 1of the Phils icons

  • Yan nga ang result, adik tayo sa kanya! love it, and LOVE HER! Kudos to you Songbird, idol!

  • I would agree with idol, altho of course magiging proud ang mga pinoy esp. ang mga solid reginians if na penetrate nya ang int'l (u.s.) scene but that would also mean na malalayo sya sa mga taong mahal nya & mahal sya like us her fans(but for me she'd be closer coz i'm here na in the states huhuhu)

Like si Lea Salonga internationally acclaim sya & she made us all proud, but may sacrifices din. Its like we get to watch Lea from afar, while si Reg upclose so happy naman tayong mga reginians dun..

  • wow!

very inspiring tlg c ms. reg.

yea tama xa na its too late for her na pra mbgyan ng intrntional career at tama dn ung cnb nea na if ever na bgyan nga xa at igrab nea un e she wont give an effort kc i know that regine can stand alone kht wlng mga bigatin na pangalan sa international scene bcoz philippines pa lng e wla na mkakatalo sknea.

c cha, kea lng nbgyan yn ng break dhl ngulat ang intrntional music industry dhl at her age e bumibirit na ng 2lad nla whitney.

  • dear cjay,

Makikidelete na lang po nung last paragraph baka kasi me magreact pa na iba.

    Salamat!

  • @TheReginified nope. i wont delete that part bcoz im not bashing charice. in fact, i want cha. but i love sarah more.

even filipino crowd says that also(the reason why U.S. scene loves charice).

  • Comment removed

  • I was so disappointed when she says "It's too late for me...now.." Kasi dream ko rin na maging sikat sya sa buong mundo... Proud din naman ako kila Arnel at Charice, but i'll be more prouder if she can make it "there"also. Like parang... si Regine dapat ang nasa position nila... Kasi parang sya ang pambato ng Pilipinas talaga when it comes to singing..

  • @jimeast You are so right, pag minsan nga iniisip ko na ipapanuod kay oprah or Ellen yung mga vid ni Regine thru Twitter. Pero it's her choice, kaya respect nlng tayo! :-)

  • she's admirable...

u have inspired many filipinos to pursue singing, u dont have to prove that u r the best, the philippines is just so lucky to have regine velasquez

  • yan ang idol ko. No wonder God has given her THAT talent.

  • noon siguro but now...the international artists like Arnel and Charice....they are always branded with Philippines and their promoters says so that they are from our country..... so i dont know where that comes from....maybe sometime ago pa yan ang sinasabi ni regine. but discrimination is stil true anyway even up to now.

  • @cadyhub If you watch the whole video po, its clear that the sentiment didnt came from NOWHERE...

Discrimination comes in DIFFERENT FORM. You cannot really assume that the stars you've mentioned aren't experiencing it. *smile*

  • ngek....sabi ko nga po na it is still there up to now....sabi ng mga overseas pinoy workers...but dahil sa mga naging international artists na pinoy at least na angat ang pangalan natin. =)

  • I was referring to this statement...

"so i dont know where that comes from..."

    I mean ????? LOL

  • ah kasi depende sa tao yan eh. depende sa iyong attitude towards those issue about discrimination and all. hahahahaha. oh well...maybe regine was really meant for asia or philippines only.

  • Maybe so. But what's the big deal if she's HAPPY about it? *smile* You are right! Depende sa attitude. And she just showed the right one, she refused to be discriminated...

Sorry I have to cut this conversation...

  • And pls be informed that even before the artists youve mentioned came into the picture, Filipinos are known already in the field of music. Pilita, dulce, regine, banig, WCOPA winners, UPSA, etc.

They have no hit international albums to boast of but talent wise they can give Philippines the TOP prize in any vocal competition. No luck JUST pure talent...

  • needless to say i am a fan of regine's voice.....she really is the most powerful filipino belter..... =)

though mostly i also love her low notes and voice control too.

  • No sugar coated words can prevent me from blocking you and deleting your post.

Bad mouthing is a No-No in my channel! Good luck to your idols! I may not be a fan but I am happy with their achievements.

  • dito ko lang nalaman kung bakit hindi na siya nag-pursue ng career sa u.s.a. dami palang limitation. parang inaalisan ka ng artistic freedom kasi may discrimination against filipinos. grabe. pero she already made a name in asia, recognized by international artists & she's still performing abroad. so there's nothing more to prove. kaya wise decision pa rin na she maintained her career here in the philippines. and look where she is now. still on top after more than 20 years. kudos to you, regine!

  • love you miss Regz ;) super

  • oh my GOD

    that was a great answer

so proud of you IDOL KO

    sayang ndi me nakasama

next tym naman inform mo naman me gusto ko din sama sa ganitong event with my ultimate addiction

  • Naku sabit lang naman din po ako. But me nagpost a day before sa RVMM about this para sa mga gustong sumama. Hindi nyo po ba nabasa? *smile*

  • naku ndi me napapsyal sa RVMM

    hays sayang naman po

next tym po ah sabihan mo ko

    plz

    para makaduet ko si regine

    hehehehe

  • haha! Medyo "third wheel" lang po talaga ang drama natin. *smile*

Me group dun sinabayan niyang kumanta ng "I CAN." yay!

  • good video..tnx kapuso

  • very well said songbird!! we love you!!

  • galing mo ate REGZ...PROUD K N MAGING PINOY! hahahaha...love you!

  • She did try hello. But they were forcing her to question her loyalty and not to stand for Filipinos. So why bother? If will simply make you look/feel evil...all for money and fame. Just like the bible say, do not deny God to save yourself or lives. Because in the end, you will look back and regret. Fake attempt after all. A sin.

  • I was giving her an applause after. After all this time, she has right reasons to stay successful only in the Philippines. For that, She is definitely the #1 Singer in the world. She doesnt NEED to prove to the majority of discriminators why shes #1. Amen to that. Regine the Great +<{:)

  • I somewhat agree with her. But then again Regine how will you know if you don't try. Especially sa US!

  • this is the answer to the questions sa insecure na laging sinasabi na pang pinas lang si regine or kinocompare sya sa iba na sumikat ( ba?) abroad. makinig kayo. i like this topic.... sa galing ni regine, it's imposible na walang offers abroad, she turned it down simply because she wanted to be herself and not to pretend to be someone else...yon lang!

  • wooh.

    grabe.

    glingx2 ni s0ngbird tlga.

    kl0wkey.

    ♥

  • galing ni regine sumagot.. very wise...thank you for this reginified.. i hope you can post more videos! thank you again

  • omg!!!im so speechless wat she saying i am so proud of u ate regs...i hope to see you soon...awesome!!!lv u te regs tnx 4 sharing of this vedio great job!!!well done...god bless...

  • Very good decision Regine...and now i can say your a Heroine you don't let the other people discriminate you and your fellow Filipinos.... Im proud of you

  • I love the Q&A portion. It was done spontaneously. You can really feel the sincerity between Regine and the fans.

Our Songbird has no college diploma to boast of but she's definitely smarter/stronger than many other artists we have. Plus, she always makes sense. LOL

  • "what are you? HUMAN...." hahhha

    kakatuwa talaga si REGZ..

aanhin naman ang international career kung di naman xa magiging masaya sa ipapagawa nila..

..napaka GAME ni Regz na sumagot sa mga questions..more please..

proud to be REGINIAN and proud to be FILIPINO

    :-)

  • Asian! Hispanic! Human! LOL

  • thanks sa video more...

  • whee!! I love this!! SHe's so honest and open about all the issues thrown her way. And everything she said was right. Why the heck start all over again when you already have something established at home? It's like the whole OFW phenomenon. You don't see well-off Filipinos migrating abroad. And funny how she relayed that story about not liking the type of songs they wanted her to sing in asia. haha. No challenge!

  • Grabe din talaga discrimination sa mga pinoy no? Sad but true...

  • yeah, grabe talaga discrimination against Pinoys. Until now it exists. And some westerners have trouble considering Filipinos as Asians 'coz we're not as fair or have almond-shaped eyes like Chinese/Japanese/Koreans. For them kasi, the only Asians they know are those who have East-Asian looks. Di nila alam kung classify tayo as Asian or Pacific-islanders, or sometimes, hispanic. Regine is right...we shouldn't be boxed to a category because of how we appear. We are all HUMAN BEINGS. hehe

  • Yeah, we are HUMAN! Hindi "PARANG" human lang. LOL

It's really hard to be Pinoy because you always need to exert extra effort to be recognized and be taken seriously. When in fact we do excel well in any field esp. sports, arts and science/ academics.
