Shit I'd say like 4500... but most of your usable torque (depending on gearing) is between1500-3800. Mine pulls like a son bitch in that rpm range... beyond that it lags a bit. Got some hookers and comin in on friday... intake manifold shortly there after. Hope to boost the top end hp up a little more. Those 390's got a solid block- your only limitation is your pocket book.
@JudgeSteelflax On bone stock, i would say 4600-5000. I would not go anything past 5000, you would be really pushing it to beyond the limit. With 4:11s and a NP435, my dads 76 F250 with 390 with single burnt glasspack was pretty obnoxious at 3rd gear going 55, i imagine the rpms was getting close to 4500.
I love this truck. I just finished restoring and rebuilding my 1979 F-250 4x4 with a 408 and super 44s with cut outs. Its now painted orange with a black stripe down the side and black cab top. I named it "tigger" as well. lol
I love your truck and looked for months to find a set of slotted rims like on your truck. No luck but I like my Alcoas pretty well. NICE TRUCK.
Its a 390 FE thats bored, Balanced, still have the stock heads on it, but they have been heavily ported so they flow pretty good, edelbrock single plane intake, 750 cfm holley, Long Tube Headers, upgraded ignition, in this video it had a very Mild Cam, in the later ones it has a very large Comp Cams Cam. Have to run 93 Octane and a Octane Booster or Visit my VP Dealer for some 110 ..
Jesus man thats one of the nicest trucks ive ever seen dude!!!!!! NICEEEEEEEEEEE! Im serious, you better be proud of that hoss man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fucking NICE!
awsome truck man, i just rebuilt a 390, im a junior in hihg school, i put mine in a 71 ford f100 two wheel drive, i jsut found a 4x4 and im gonna put my 390 in that.....hope its as sweet as ur truck
thanks man, ill keep in touch and tell you how it goes, if u make any more videos b sure to tell me, u should take some pics of ur truck and send them to me, like the engine and everyhting
built the motor when I was in HS. Heads are ported/polished, decked .010, bored .030, Comp Cams Cam (just changed it to a 280) Larger valves in the heads, headers, Cherry bomb glasspacks (going in favor of flowmasters)
@500passwords thanks boss! I miss this truck but love the house and shop it helped get me. Ill build another.

what is the redline on these 390's? i don't have a tach so i never know how fast its turning. It's loud so it may sound faster then it actually is.

Nice F250, my dad had an '76 highboy with the same 4 speed and same 390. His was blue and rusted.
Does yours have front disc brakes?
Those are cool slotted mag wheels on yours. And also that's a great song too.
