Thank you for posting this! They are so great to do this! I saw them in Dallas and OK, but they didn't come out like this. I would maybe pass out if Bono hugged me. Loved the boyfriend-commentary, seems like Bono enjoyed you guys, too. LOL.
This is why I LOVE these guys SO much. I went to see them for the very first time in Raleigh last month, and my best friend and I had GA tix and were lined up. We knew that the band might come talk to the people in line, but we weren't sure. We saw their motorcade drive up and into the arena, and I almost cried thinking they weren't gonna come over...but they DID. I got to hug Bono and got a kiss on the cheek. His razor stubble tickled!
i have a question, what time did ya'll get in line? We going in Philly and we actually went to the GA and NC shows, and i want to know what time they got there?
We actually lined up at about 9am the day of the show. We were lucky because my best friend's apartment is literally a less than five minute walk from the stadium (people sat in their yards to hear the show) and we could go over there occasionally and see if the line was getting to be too long. We walked over after eating breakfast and lined up. One person held the spot while the other ran to get food or pee. The boys got there a few hours before showtime, sometime between 3-4pm.
I was there and got to meet Bono too! It was at the end of all this, you may have stopped recording by then. Anyway, you're right he really was very sweet. I thought it was so cool that they stuck around to sign autographs and stuff. I bet a lot of bands who aren't nearly as big wouldn't have bothered.
I know, it's amazing. I've met a few celebrities before (David Bowie, Lou Reed, Liam Neeson and a few others), but he is by far the nicest I've ever met. Its a shame to think people have that opinion. :-(
The weird thing is for all the people who think he has a big ego,he is the most humble down to Earth person people say they have met...he always signs autographs whether a camera is on him or not...he has given fans that have hung outside the band's studio in Dublin rides back into the city center etc.
he doesnt deserve a hug >:(
