  • Isn't an allemande supposed to be played a lot slower?

  • I first heard this about 1970 or so. I have heard many many renditions of this (and the rest of the two lute suites) since then, but never anything close to this one. This is an absolute tour-de-force by the unrivaled master of this style. I couldn't even begin to imagine how this could be improved. If this isn't God in action, I don't know what is.

  • bream should've went 8va only the second time for the second part

  • nah , per olov've got the best performence of this piece on yt IMHO

  • The painting that accompanies this looks like a Ruisdael (that's Jacob van Ruisdael, the great 17th Century Dutch landscape painter)--a perfect choice.

  • that version is really hard to find the scores - the second part of the second part :) (namely starting from the bar 13th) is transposed one octave higher then normally.

Anybody knows the right place to buy it?

  • @interadmin if you want the sheet with the 2nd part of the 2nd part in the original octave i have it ... i can send it to you (the version here i have) :D just tell me !

  • What a difference!! - compared with others here doing the same; - that sound he is getting out of his guitar is really impressing

  • Hermosisima Versión, muchas Gracias!

  • That's the recording to go by for this song

  • Ah, yes, the Master. Easily the best rendition of this piece on YouTube. No videos needed. This is just picture-perfect.
