Les's voice is part of what makes Primus great. He's definitively not the best singer, but if Primus had what is considered a "good" singer in mainstream music, it just wouldn't fit. Reminds you that being an incredible singer doesn't mean shit to the actual music, actually.

Because they are, geddy lee heavily influenced les claypool, primus toured with rush during primus's early days, there is footage of alex, neil and geddy together with les. Also les' main 4 string bass is signed on the stock by geddy. Alex also gave les a 4 string ricken as a gift. They go way back and are friends, thats a fact.
