  • IF YOU'RE GONNA DISLIKE CUZ THERE AREN'T LYRICS ON THE SCREEN. THEY'RE IN THE DESCRIPTION.

  • seriously love this <3

  • there are no lyrics?cheapscates.

  • @3ofusdonnsanlaca in the description.

  • bet the 1 person who disliked it feels pretty gay right now

  • This song is just gorgeous <3

  • It's good and all, but did I hear an almost off note on Kim's second 'can keep believing' ???

  • @kellydejong Yeah you are hearing correctly. But she is in fact, adding melodic ornamentation to it... if you're not a douche like I am :P then like, she's putting her own spin on it... actually I don't think that's ornamentation... but yeah I think she's just decorating it more :D

Oh yeah, not as good as Lea and such XD

  • @McFatteh Ah yeaah I get ya fair enough then lol :)

  • This is not Lea Salonga at all.

  • @acuison1 i think it might be, she was young doing this

  • @acuison1 Nobody claimed it was. It's Joanna Ampil.

  • the Kim in this uses to much vibratto, really bothers me

  • hands down my favorite musical. everything about it was gorgeous. sick! i can't. it's too much!

  • I think Joanna's an ok Kim, but Lea definetly sounds a lot better and passionate. As for Ruthie, she sounds great here! Maybe not as great as Claire, but still pretty damn good! ;D

  • I think Lea and Ellen's version are more emotional.LOve it.

  • Asian

  • @lesmizfanatic90 Only your third favourite Fantine? I can't even listen to Pattie Lupone in the original cast album because I think Ruthie Henshall's version is so much better. And I love Pattie Lupone.

  • @spud0517 I agree. Patti Lupone is great, just...not as Fantine.

  • i believe it's Ruthie Henshall

  • I think Ruthie Henshall is my favourite person ever. I wish that people who aren't familiar with the West End would know about her.

  • @spud0517 i am an american and i know all about her lol. she is my favorite ellen and my 3rd fav fantine. LOVE HER!

  • 50,000th viewer

  • i instantly disliked Ellen; but she did nothing wrong, just very tragic. Chris has a lot to answer to; but who can judge.love the musical and always have done since my sister introduced me to it in 2003. shows life happens.

  • Simply Beautiful

  • no it's not ruthie suprisingly

  • This is my favorite Miss Saigon song. I like Joanna Ampil's interpretations and singing in some of the other songs such as her showdown with Thuy, Movie in my Mind, Finale. Not so much on this song. Lea set the bar high on this one. Ruthie is the highlight on this one, just my opinion.

  • is Ruthie Henshall singing the second part?

  • @gozofair Yes, it's Ruthie Henshall

  • I saw this on Broadway during my senior year in high school. That was 1996. These songs still send chills up my spine when I hear them. Truly withstanding the test of time...

  • This song is amazing! It gives me chills. <3

  • mehhh. i like joanna ampil NOW, but i don't like her in this recording....

  • dang.... those two girls should just move on with their lives....

the man can't keep his hands on just one person...

    besides, they keep hurting themselves....

[I obvious haven't seen the show yet.... I have hopes that someday, one day, I will be able to watch a live performance!!]

  • @Maranedy

Yeah, see the show first...because that's not how it is at all. Did you at least read the wikipedia entry on it so you know the plot?

  • @Maranedy i have hope i see it live too, not even in my own New York City is the production on -_-

  • @Maranedy

When he left Kim for the last time, he expected to come back to her. when he couldn't he believed her dead so he moved on.

So Kim doesnt know about Ellen cause shes not in the USA.

  • @Drumfanatic14 I guess its just preference. But as for me [I'm a man and don't doubt that....], I would wait for any chance to search for her. I guess I'm just a Masochistic guy who prefers to have nothing if I can't have the best....

I do hope that what he felt for Ellen is love not gratitude cloaked as love.... That would be most cruel...

  • This sounds like Ruthie Henshall for sure, but it's Liz Callaway!

  • @sleepinbee87 Believe it or not it IS ruthie.

  • Though her "I Dreamed a Dream" as Fantine was absolutely to DIE FOR, this is still wonderful.

  • That Ellen sounds like Ruthie Henshall. Forgive me if that was mentioned already. LOVE HER! Lovely voice both soothing and strong amongst her various other talents.

  • @CelestiallyBlue You're right. That's Ruthie Henshall :)

  • @yellowsunflowers8 Actually believe it or not it IS Ruthie.

  • Seems like most people who cover this can't find a good Ellen... Kim usually is done justice, but poor Ellen is left out to rot : /

  • @sardoniclysane that's a good ellen for me.... not as good as the real one but this ellen is good..

  • @badtzmaroo

It was my impression the CD was the original actresses.

My point was most covers of this wind up with a strong Kim, but weak Ellen.

  • Great song :) Two girls in my musical theatre class are singing this<3

  • I sung this today!¬ with a friend, lol i aint a alto, im a sop, but i sung ellens part and I love singing it! Id think id wanna play her if we did it, but we cant cos the copyright aint out in the uk :( xxxxx.

  • bravo. this was awesome!!!

  • Who's playing Kim in this one? It's not Lea, is it?

  • me& my friend Naomi are singing this for our music performing arts night. its mint! :P

  • singing this for my music practicle, hardddd
