  • Mabe you should build a pyrimid (or let them build one) and show them all the chambers sound good?

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS I am planning something like this when we study ancient civilisations. But that wont be until the 2nd half of the year.

  • I wasnt saying my statement was invalid. By the way you teach these kids brilliantly XD

  • Agreed this is coming from a kids persective...gee i wish my school did this...

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS Just because you are a 'kid' does not make your ideas/perspective any less valid. Remember it is kids that I am trying to teach here.

  • Edu Elfie Just Replying Again Its GREAT To Use Minecraft Bit Seeing This Is Limiting Them To Pressing A Button When They Could Be Making As You Said Ancient Civilisation ( I Respect The Idea Of An Experiment Though :D).

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS Awesome, now I understand where you are coming from. I agree this limits what the kids can do in the world, but as far as teaching a concept I think it works well. In future I think I would be asking the students to create something in-game that would let them perform an experiment on reaction times. But we all gotta start somewhere.

  • Good Idea Teaching Them With Minecraft Bad Idea Teaching Them Like This

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS Interesting comment, any particular reason you think that this was a bad idea?

  • I personaly love the idea of this. ironicly i was just thinking of this in my match class about a year back, lol.

  • @TXLMinecraft Thanks for the support, any other ideas you would like to share for testing with students?

  • @EduElfie Maybe let them build for archetecural knowlege lol.

  • @TXLMinecraft I plan on that when we study ancient civilisations, if the kids want to build and explain in Minecraft I will be letting them.

  • @EduElfie thats good, I myself want to be an archetect when i reach the required age.

  • how old are the students im am 14 and would love this to be taught to me in this way. To be honest I do not like school but if they did like it like this i would enjoy it

  • @4everwerd15 This particular group of students are about your age. If you can think of one teacher that may be interested in teaching their classes using games, send them here and show them some of these videos, try to explain why/how it is going to help you learn. There is no harm in trying.

  • @sereneice True they do swear, but at some point they do need to learn when that sort of language is appropriate, the 'punishment' is just a way to get them to think about what they say before they blurt it out. For example if I swore at my students the way the student swear at eachother I would not be in my chosen career.

  • oh god, everyone swear's. it's normal for kids to swear. you will never avoid it. and giving them detention or suspended isnt going to make them stop.

  • @sereneice i agree

  • @Rsmaniac4 Suspension might not be on the cards for these students, but I will most definitely be a lot harsher on them in the future, it is amazing what you 'miss' while actually teaching and what you pick up when listening to a recording. I find live lesson audio a great way to reflect on the way I teach.

  • There swearing in your class? At my school you would get suspended for swearing in class

  • @coolguy0632 Wow, I will have to tell my students that, there was one in particular that drove me nuts, and I did catch up with them the next lesson and explained why I was disappointed, they pulled their head in after that.

  • In France if your pupils had spoke this loud and this bad they would have get an hour detention. Just saying.

  • @coolguy0632 wow thats great thanks for sharing u benifed so many people

  • @XxTheGreenDeathxX nope, the classes you see recorded here are in my normal Science classes, no special Minecraft lessons, just using the game to help my teaching, and of course to help student learning.

  • Is there like a math period and english period and a minecraft period

  • @SuperSonicSpeedMario Have a look at the thumbnail for MinecraftEdu Tutorial 2 - Starting a Server, on the left is the 'launcher' if you watch the vid, you will see the launcher at some point, that will make it clearer for you than anything I can say to explain.

  • ok so it will say "run" "run ebu: and "exit"????

  • @SuperSonicSpeedMario Yes, the launcher allows you to choose whether you want to run normal minecraft or minecraftedu.

  • ok so my minecraft will be on as well as minecraftEdu

  • @SuperSonicSpeedMario it is a custom mod, check the vid description for link to website with info. (Cant post links in comments)

  • does Minecraftedu remove minecraft or is it a add on????

  • @SuperSonicSpeedMario you are more than welcome to join in, time zones might be an issue depending on where you are, and you would need your own MinecraftEdu as well, my trial license unfortunately only covers students at my school, and on school grounds. Let me know if you still can.

  • Yeah i Want To Join You Guys Or Help Build Or Some Thing

  • i wish i could join

  • @SuperBoo2000 I can give you the map to download if you want to have a play, or do you mean at school?

  • @Tobiasrockz Made with creative mode and MinecraftEdu's new /placeamount command, and a couple of hours. Also way to many hours spent playing Minecraft over the last year or so.

  • @rwkahn3 Thanks, I hope they are having as much fun as it sounds, but also learning at the same time.

  • i want to do this

  • @EduElfie Amazing how did you make that!? its like MAGIC!!!
