I saw this a year ago me and my wife... It was crazy honestly ..we were both so shocked we didn't speak of it at the moment...10 minutes after during a cookout we spoke of it and she too saw off..it was over at the debatable sofa by thousand oaks and wetmore by the lake..right on top of it...wasn't scary just surreal

At 3:04 if you look up at the clouds you can see a black thing shooting down from the sky that suddenly stops as if it landed on the cloud. If anyone can enplane this please do so.
You see a bird in the sky you have no reference points for size. A bald eagle may have a 6 foot wing span and stand 3 feet tall yet only weigh 10 or 12 lbs. People who are scared of their shadows need to stay inside.

@keelyproctor Hopefully you will get to see it someday (preferrably from a safe distance!). I always wondered what the heck the so-called 'Mothman' creature really was (or is). It sure would be cool if it happened to fly by someone who happened to have a dart gun - one that could shoot it with a tranquilizer dart rather than kill it, maybe someone on a safari or something like that. It would be so cool to find a totally new creature, and to actually HAVE the creature itself to study for a while.

@keelyproctor Yea, your probably right about that, but then again, killing what could be the last of a speicies would be a pretty thoughtless move for a scientist. It's probably better to be cautious though, you really don't know what the heck the scientists would want to do to the poor thing!

my grandma saw one similar about three years ago. it was at night and she went out cause she heard a noise and when she looked up there was a huge black bird, just as described in the video, she said its eyes were red and when it cawed it sounded like a scream, she said it stared at her with human intensity then it jumped from the tree and flew into the ditch....she said she was scared to death. so i believe these sightings 100% cause my grandma doesnt make up stories
When I first came to North East Texas I saw this bird. The bird I saw was a large black bird that looked like a giant vulture or Condor so I believe that is what this bird is most like.
I saw this bird flying low and it was very very large. This was not some hallucination and I know what I saw was very large and very real. It is only a matter of time before the Teratorn is discovered alive and existing today.
Obviously it is rare but it DOES exist. Guaranteed!!!
@parvezjakson It was very scary and yet I was so awestruck that I looked out my front upstairs bedroom window amazed and in disbelief. I had no camera or any means of capturing an image of this mega bird but I do remember that it did not flap it's wings but rather glided through the sky wings outstretched. It moved fairly fast and was out of site in no time. I tried to get a camera but could not find one in time. These Crypto birds are real. What I saw was not in a dream but a reality.

@parvezjakson In the beginning I was scared but this bird did not look to be in predatory mode but was just gliding through the air. Truthfully this bird did not look like a raptor. Still I can not say for sure. I was just awestruck by what I saw.

I am aware of people claiming to have seen pteradactlyes around texas but I assure you it was not that. ......I reckon it had a wingspan of about 4/5m give/take. I distinctively remember the enormous whoosh sound of its flapping of wings, and I distinctively remember the loud screaming sound it made, which it did three times. this is fully real. Iv seen this bird in lubbock tx back in 2008 (i think november maybe october) My friend and I were sitting outside his house (on 61rst off quaker, pretty much in the middle of the city i know its a strange location for this siting) and it was about midnight/1:00am and while we were talking we heard a loud screming bird noise (pretty much just like an eagle) but it was very loud, almost as if it was a majestic noise, then we looked up 2 see a LARGE bird flying south.....
I saw a Monsterquest episode on this subject. The Thunderbird sightings started back in Ohio in the 70s but have been seen here in Texas as well as Alaska and parts of Canada. While I'm sure one of these things could kill a full-grown man, they're more likely to swoop down and carry off a child. The case in Ohio had a ten year old nearly taken away by one of these things.
There is a giant 31/2 to 4 foot tall owl in Seabrook TX that doen't exist according to my research. Has anyone ever seen or heard of an owl that size? It was just standing in the middle of the road turned away from me and I thought it was a great dane or something, then it's head rotated around and I saw it was an owl. It had the face of a barn owl, tytonidae, but was bright white.
Something that can fly so high has no chance of not being spotted in a well populated area. What would it feed on, where would it sleep ect ect ect...
I just saw a bird across from my home in Tulsa Ok that appeared to have a wingspan of at least 12-15 feet (8:15 pm CST). It flew relatively low (60 ft) above the ground of a well lit park and then ascending beyond a treeline. I observed the bird for about 10 seconds. It sounds too crazy to believe. There are no North American birds documented at that size. I'm still in disbelief but the view I had was unobstructed. The width of the wings looked nearly 3 ft across. And no I'm not drinking.
Well, there is a type of Eagle in Alaska known to be that big, but as I said that's alsaka and not Oklahoma. It might have been a bald eagle but who knows.

IF birds like this existed they would have to be at population levels high enough to sustain genetic variation. And especially a bird of this size would be spotted, filmed and shot (or protected) on numerous occasions.
Till then you have a nice story, but its just that...a story.

Oct. 28, 2009 at 12 am I was driving by San Marcos and something flew above my car and flew about 5 feet ahead and then turned to the front of my car and started flapping IT'S wings!!! I saw the giant bird too. I was going to South Side High Sch 1976. I was at home alone. I could here it flapping in the wind and the bird was so big I couldn't believe it. I wanted to call someone on the phone to let them know, but there was no time instead I just stared at it as it flew away. When my step mom came home I told her and to my surprice, she believed it. She told me that she had just heard within that same hour that some teachers had said they had seen it too.
i was leaving a baseball game at my school, when my friend and i saw a huge bird, but what caught my attention was the tail. it was a lizard like tail with an arrow at the end of it, it also had a big beak. Another time, i was playing wiffleball after school, and several of my friends and i saw a normal looking hawk, but the strange thing was the it was 5 times its normal size, its wingspan was 20-25 ft! you had to have seen it.
Okay, so when I was at school we were walking inside and there was bird that looked EXACTLY like a Pterodactyl.
It had the tail with the arrow looking thing at the end, it had a 1-2 foot long, pointy beak, and a wingspan of about 20-30 feet across. AND when it flapped it's wings, it made a noise like a bomb hitting the ground. It was so freaky!! it made me scared.

look up the haast eagle in new zealand, it went extinct just a few hundred years ago, wingspan of several meters. Maori tribes at the time would never allow young children out alone in areas where these eagles lived.

Teratorn existed as recently as 6,000 years ago alongside Native Americans, and they had wingspans from 11 to 17 feet. In Woodburn, Oregon they found Indian remains in 10,000 year old stratum--in the same stratum was the humerus of a Teratron bird with an est. 14 ft wingspan. But I doubt such birds exist today since all the giant mammals they fed on have become extinct. Condors, and giant Steller's eagles can be mistaken for small planes. An 8-10 ft wingspan can look like 12-18 feet from below.

i saw that damn thing yesterday. i was on my deck and i was talking to my mother through the window. then i heard rustling. and out of the corner of my eye i saw my neighbors bush moving. i looked over and i saw this bird comming out of the bush. it was hanging on the bush with its wings folded. it turned its head looked at me and flew past the house. it was all black with a white ring around its neck. it was huge. today i measure the bush. it was 8 feet wide. it had a wingspan of 15-20 feet.

.....It was a clear night so we could see the shape of it pretty clear, It pretty much looked like an eagle only alot bigger. I am aware of people claiming to have seen pteradactlyes around texas but I assure you it was not that. This is one of those things in life that only a few people get to experience and no matter what I say its not going to sound as good as the distinct memory I have in my head. Im just happy that I wasnt alone to see this so I have someone to back me up on what I saw

......I reckon it had a wingspan of about 4/5m give/take. I distinctively remember the enormous whoosh sound of its flapping of wings, and I distinctively remember the loud screaming sound it made, which it did three times. This bird didnt seem like it was rushing anywhere but just calmly flew south. We watched it fly for about a minute or 2 until it faded off in the distance/darkness........

this is fully real. Iv seen this bird in lubbock tx back in 2008 (i think november maybe october) My friend and I were sitting outside his house (on 61rst off quaker, pretty much in the middle of the city i know its a strange location for this siting) and it was about midnight/1:00am and while we were talking we heard a loud screming bird noise (pretty much just like an eagle) but it was very loud, almost as if it was a majestic noise, then we looked up 2 see a LARGE bird flying south.....

I saw a Monsterquest episode on this subject. The Thunderbird sightings started back in Ohio in the 70s but have been seen here in Texas as well as Alaska and parts of Canada. While I'm sure one of these things could kill a full-grown man, they're more likely to swoop down and carry off a child. The case in Ohio had a ten year old nearly taken away by one of these things.

There is a giant 31/2 to 4 foot tall owl in Seabrook TX that doen't exist according to my research. Has anyone ever seen or heard of an owl that size? It was just standing in the middle of the road turned away from me and I thought it was a great dane or something, then it's head rotated around and I saw it was an owl. It had the face of a barn owl, tytonidae, but was bright white.

I just saw a bird across from my home in Tulsa Ok that appeared to have a wingspan of at least 12-15 feet (8:15 pm CST). It flew relatively low (60 ft) above the ground of a well lit park and then ascending beyond a treeline. I observed the bird for about 10 seconds. It sounds too crazy to believe. There are no North American birds documented at that size. I'm still in disbelief but the view I had was unobstructed. The width of the wings looked nearly 3 ft across. And no I'm not drinking.

First of all, I am not out to prove anything. Nor would I waste my time trying to find it. It was 33 years ago. the bird is probable dead. Another thing, you were not there so don't write to me as if you know what is fact. I was lucky to have seen it. And I could care less if anyone believes me. I do know one thing for sure. There were two others, (Teachers in the SS Dist. who saw it the same day.

As for me - this type of vid is generally hoaxed, and stories (such as yours) usually are a case of mistaken identity by people who have limited knowledge of what they are looking at.
IF birds like this existed they would have to be at population levels high enough to sustain genetic variation. And especially a bird of this size would be spotted, filmed and shot (or protected) on numerous occasions.
Till then you have a nice story, but its just that...a story.

Oct. 28, 2009 at 12 am I was driving by San Marcos and something flew above my car and flew about 5 feet ahead and then turned to the front of my car and started flapping IT'S wings!!! I was shocked and started screaming and my husband woke up. I finally told him what happened and that's when he told me about the Thunder birds that he learned in school.. I have never heard of this before ( I'm from KS!!) IT was HUGE and had legs hanging from it's body. I don't want to see another one!!!

I saw the giant bird too. I was going to South Side High Sch 1976. I was at home alone. I could here it flapping in the wind and the bird was so big I couldn't believe it. I wanted to call someone on the phone to let them know, but there was no time instead I just stared at it as it flew away. When my step mom came home I told her and to my surprice, she believed it. She told me that she had just heard within that same hour that some teachers had said they had seen it too.

i was leaving a baseball game at my school, when my friend and i saw a huge bird, but what caught my attention was the tail. it was a lizard like tail with an arrow at the end of it, it also had a big beak. Another time, i was playing wiffleball after school, and several of my friends and i saw a normal looking hawk, but the strange thing was the it was 5 times its normal size, its wingspan was 20-25 ft! you had to have seen it.

Okay, so when I was at school we were walking inside and there was bird that looked EXACTLY like a Pterodactyl.
It had the tail with the arrow looking thing at the end, it had a 1-2 foot long, pointy beak, and a wingspan of about 20-30 feet across. AND when it flapped it's wings, it made a noise like a bomb hitting the ground. It was so freaky!! it made me scared.

The Native Americans called these birds "THUNDERBIRDS" Because the sound of their wings Sounded like thunder because they were so big It would be amazing to see one, they still do exsist, I have a picture from the internet of a Bird that looks JUST like a crow, but the wingspan is 25ft. look up the haast eagle in new zealand, it went extinct just a few hundred years ago, wingspan of several meters. Maori tribes at the time would never allow young children out alone in areas where these eagles lived.

Teratorn existed as recently as 6,000 years ago alongside Native Americans, and they had wingspans from 11 to 17 feet. In Woodburn, Oregon they found Indian remains in 10,000 year old stratum--in the same stratum was the humerus of a Teratron bird with an est. 14 ft wingspan. But I doubt such birds exist today since all the giant mammals they fed on have become extinct. Condors, and giant Steller's eagles can be mistaken for small planes. An 8-10 ft wingspan can look like 12-18 feet from below.

i saw that damn thing yesterday. i was on my deck and i was talking to my mother through the window. then i heard rustling. and out of the corner of my eye i saw my neighbors bush moving. i looked over and i saw this bird comming out of the bush. it was hanging on the bush with its wings folded. it turned its head looked at me and flew past the house. it was all black with a white ring around its neck. it was huge. today i measure the bush. it was 8 feet wide. it had a wingspan of 15-20 feet.
