Live in West Reading for a while and then give some figures on immigration. I don't believe immigrants (be they illegal/legal or asylum seekers) get housing instead of British people. But I do know that certain individuals do know how to play the system to get their housing quicker, with less fuss. He's wrong on that final point. Visa overstays, which can be counted, are a major problem. In addition, the stark reality of immigration is that it has resulted in many migrants doing jobs that can be done by UK nationals. That's a massive waste of human resources and tax payers' money. Immigrants filling hard to train for roles should always be welcomed; but you decrease the scarcity of your labour if you allow similarly skilled immigrants to compete for your job. It's a no-brainer.

I've tried some of it and reckon it's BETTER than some of the stuff we're forced to buy, with fewer additives. What are you afraid of?

@GovernmentGuy Dont talk rubbish , ive bought Polish food and its exactly the same as the food in other countries. Its made by the big food manufacturers like Nestle with the same additives etc. Im asking you the question that since Polish people have all left the country as you say , why do we still have Polish sections in our supermarkets and why do i see several Polish shops in my town alone?.
Stop inferring that Polish people are somehow better than English people, its pathetic.

@hablerz - Btw. A LOT of the food in Tesco (& every other store) is IMPORTED. So, if you look at things in depth, it's ALL ONE BIG FOREIGN FOOD SECTION. Where does the majority of our fresh fruit & Veg come from? Going back to your original point, Why don't YOU go to, OR open, an ENGLISH FOOD store? There's a demand. But please DON'T blame ambitious & entrepreneurial POLES (and others) for filling the voids created by the likes of TESCO, who have destroyed our traditional ENGLISH market towns.

If i went to Poland and opened an English food store , you could then make that analogy. @hablerz 1st of all, you've mis-quoted me. & 2ndly, I CAN see the point you're making; 'that an Englishman, opening a shop in England isn't the same as a Pole coming to England & opening a Polish shop'. Yes thats correct. But my point is this; If a Pole comes here & open his business (selling Polish foods mainly to Poles), what effect has that had on you? Poles learned to speak OUR language and paid taxes to OUR country. Why don't you TRY opening a shop in Poland, WHO's stopping you? Afraid?

@GovernmentGuy Your original point was that there are no Polish people left in England , apparently they have all gone home thats why i mentioned the Polish influences. Secondly Polish people pay very very little tax especially compared to the locals. They simply claim it all back when they return to their country, i mean anyone would do that same so you cant blame them. Thirdly i dont think an influx of English people would be very welcome in Poland.

@GovernmentGuy Id also like to point out that i just saw some of the Polish people you claimed had all left Britain just now. Mainstream news says they have all left but real life tells me they are all still here living 6 to a house and paying very little tax. Economic benefit almost zero.

@GovernmentGuy What affect has hundreds of thousands of Poles working here is that an equal number of British people must now reside on the dole to compensate. The maths is very simple. Especially when i see employers discriminating against British people or not even advertising to British people. Ive also worked with Poles and i have failed to see any of their superhuman qualities , in fact they are no different to British workers apart from they cant speak English as well.

@hablerz :-/ that's factually inaccurate. Before the EastEuropeans arrived, there was a shortage of Plumbers, Carpenters, etc. With this extra help, we saw a housing & economic boom. Unemployment, during those years, fell to lowest levels, remember? It's simply NOT TRUE to say that "an EQUAL number of British people..reside on the dole". And as you admit, "in fact they are no different to British workers apart from they cant speak English as well", I don't see what your problem with them is.

@GovernmentGuy So Polish people now caused the housing boom? , i thought that was due to low interest rates lack of new build housing and economic cycles. What remarkable people these Polish are. I dont have a problem per se about Polish workers , what i do have a problem with is people saying they are superior to British workers. I have a problem with migrants taking British jobs , housing and claiming benefits.

@hablerz - Exactly when did I say that they "caused" the housing boom? What I'm saying is that they were here when we needed them, and now that Poland's economy has improved (whilst ours is in the shit) they've MAINLY gone back. (I was wrong to say they'd ALL gone back - I'm not a robot). How many properties were bought-Improved-sold/let during the boom? Would that have been possible without immigrant labour? I don't think they were "superior", but they DID help us - don't deny them credit

Sure house prices have gone up 300 percent but thats not going to stimulate the economy , that signals high inflation and very low interest rates designed to inflate asset prices. If you havent noticed Britain is now 1 trillion pounds in debt due in part to crazy economic policies like paying our own people to sit on the dole and inviting millions of non tax paying migrants over.

@hablerz - We've had an ECONOMIC BOOM thanks (depends on how you see it) to the CREDIT "BOOM". Or, 'An economy built on sand'. This high inflation is not the result of over-inflated house prices - it's due to 'increased Global demand for, & speculation of, commodities'. Everything is treated as a commodity, even food - THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUTLAWED IN UK, as it is in some other countries. Our debt is caused by BAD DEBTS & the collapse of the 'Financial *FALSE* economy' (Banking "Industry").

The few seconds of satisfaction per day that we'd get from seeing Labour squirm is simply NOT ENOUGH to justify what the BNP are planning to do to our country. He's wrong on that final point. Visa overstays, which can be counted, are a major problem. In addition, the stark reality of immigration is that it has resulted in many migrants doing jobs that can be done by UK nationals. That's a massive waste of human resources and tax payers' money. Immigrants filling hard to train for roles should always be welcomed; but you decrease the scarcity of your labour if you allow similarly skilled immigrants to compete for your job. It's a no-brainer.
