As unbloggerul said,all this stories are bluffing. Yes,Vlad Tepes was imprisoned in the castle for 2 months, and after that mover to Hungary.But it wasn't his castle,he was just a friend of Iancu of Hunedoara.

I live in Hunedoara,i can say i grew in that castle,and i know all it's hidden corners.And there are no "strigoi",ghosts and sure not any vampires !

Yes he was an evil man , however he got the nickname Vlad the Impaler because he impaled the scouts of the armys that tried to invade Romania in an effort to deter them. a few corrections

the majority of turists at the castle come from Hungary

the russians didn't build the steel mills, romanians did. Equipment was brought from Germany, France, Russia, Japan and even the US. Also a lot of romanian equipement went into building this huge mill (second largest in romania). What remains of it and lies close to the castle is part of clean-up effort and in a few years will make room for new development, including a replica of a medieval village around the castle

He spent most his time in exile in Poenari Castle which was in a very high location giving him the ability to monitor movement through transylvania. He used enslaved boyars to rebuild the castle, those who didn't die from the construction... were impaled, adding to his notorious reputation.

After watching this program, I bought a plane ticket and went to Romania myself to investigate the place for myself. Although it is not haunted, the fortress does have an aura to it. I posted a video response where you can see my pictures of the visit. Enjoy!

This may be true. I visited the location myself back in 2004. I talked with the director of the restoration effort. He said that it was not haunted, but it does get creepy at night. I think the most important thing for Romania is that it generates tourism for the country. You can say that Americans, etc are stupid, but the income generated from these visitors is what has helped the local Romanian economy. If anyone is stupid it is the Russians who built those smokestacks and factories there.

Actually I've been in US with a W&T student program for 3 summers in a row, I lived as an US citizen and I know how the system works. I've meet nice and smart people there, but I also meet lots of dumb ones. What I hate most on television, and some of the shows in US, are the lies, false facts, they present to citizens, like the movie we comment.
