i cant stand televison music now... i can only listen to classical, I came from the hip hop industry and now i'm 23 alitte more mature, mature enough to understand music in it's purest form, it brings such joy to my heart....here's my own saying "when you go classic you wont go back to spastic"
I just love the way Mozart resolves everything in the last movement. The sadness and melancholy beforehand giving way to laughter and happiness in the finale. Delightful! So good to see the pianist smile too!
@Pvannortwick Natural genius was only part of it. The other part was environment and training. There are folks today just as bright as he was, but without the environment and the same type of training, there is no hope of ever hearing "new" music like this.
"It is a mistake to think that the practice of my art has become easy to me. I assure you, dear friend, no one has given so much care to the study of composition as I. There is scarcely a famous master in music whose works I have not frequently and diligently studied."
-- Mozart (1787)
Without will, practice and a daring spirit, genius equals nothing.
dumdumdu....Your name fits who you are. It is obvious that you do not know or have any understanding of what a TRUE performance is. Do us all a favor and jump of a bridge. I had a chance to meet Malcolm frager and listen to him 20 YEARS AGO and he was a legend. R.I.P.
the music is wonderful, who doesn't know that. but look at all these f....s, especially the conductor...with those goofy tuxedos..can you possibly be more stuffy....little wonder that many young modern day musicians turn to rap and like forms of musical art, intent on being irreverent
Formal clothes are a tradition worth preserving. They are neither goofy or stuffy and the lack of respect for tradition by undisciplined "modern" people whether young or old is regrettable, when commenting on such fine music, and the standards these players were setting
well maybe u can influence people learn an instrument and then get really good. maybe play songs that "youngsters" would like, only on an instrument like a flute or tuba. u never know
A genius in his own right. I took a music theory & appreciation class and it was the most confusing thing in the world (contrapuntal, wtf?!). And then my calculus course seemed much easier after that. =)
A little on the slow side, but pretty good. Frager's Mozart is a little square. A great performance of this concerto is the old Karl Engel recording. I forget what label it was on.

amazing 17 years old contrapuntal sonata form concerto! mozart was not only a genius, he was an opened mind for the beautiful things thinking too! and this malcolm frager performance is awesome!
I like this concerto very much, but Frager's playing is flat; it doesn't seem to capture the essence of Mozart... something seems missing when I listen to him play this

I'll let the man himself discredit you:

It would be nice to see some young muscians play this in a more fashionable setup to make the music more accessible to 'the youngsters' (tm).
