man i so badly want to see a tuatara. If I were to conserve any animal, it would be this one. It would be a shame to loose the most unique reptile. Its conservation status (at least for S. punctatus) is vulnerable, which is one step above endangered. While this is of concern, I'm happy to know that this species is receiving proper protection. this should be new zealands national animal as opposed to the kiwi. so much more unique and distinctive.
they can live till 150 y? holy shit ... respect
