@charmus73 Thanks! I'd love to hear this mixed with the piano- a duet would be awesome! And, yes, the mic is a Zoom H2 and I love it. The sound is amazing and I love the portability of it. Plus, it does surround-sound! Thanks again.
@weg711151 Well, that's about the best compliment I could be given. I truly believe Carl had one of the best voices of all time. I miss hearing him sing.
@ascrodin Well, that was right before I moved out of my condo (I painted over the blue walls). Now, I'm in our new house and it's an even nicer studio!
yes! what a great cover! I love that you even did the "Hi" at the start! I'm sitting here singing the "hillside", "seaside", etc harmonies with you. you have great taste in music, to cover this masterpiece. cheers!
@tatelabianca Thank you very much for the comment! When I was little, the "Hi" was my favorite part. Now, of course, this whole song is amazing to me- and I'm glad there are people like you out there who appreciate it, as well. Thanks again and I hope you'll check out the rest of my Beach Boys covers, too!
@AllThisIsThat And thank you- I LOVE your username! That's one of my favorite Beach Boys songs, too. The harmonies (and Carl's falsetto at the end) are just amazing on that one.
@Martenot Finally- someone who appreciates the nylon acoustic as much as I do! For the more dynamic songs (with loud and soft parts), I like to go to this guitar. My Ibanez acoustic has seen better days, but now with Martin acoustic (steel string), I've got a perfect guitar for those overall "louder" songs!
Great job, Jim !!! I have always loved this Carl Wilson.Jack Reilly song....bothe verasion from Holland and from the live LP. Great backdrop harmonies they did too/ Keep up the good work
@BeachBoysGuy1 As have I- my father and I believe that Holland is the best Beach Boys album. They're grown-up, but still cool. Everyone has a role and the album has a great theme. I wish they got to do more than just two albums with that lineup. Thanks again!
Hi Jim, sounds great! I play this song on the piano. How about a Duet? Btw...great mic, the zoom, isn't it?

Good rendition of a great song.
But please play E minor (instead of D) in the bridge when you sing "beyond the sorrow..."

God, I love this song and how I miss Carl! Go Bert! By the way, I love the new look of your studio. Very clean and uncluttered! (-:

I'm glad to see you're back to your nylon acoustic. Sounds much better then what you lately did.
