I learned the hard way that Everex is shit when I bought a new Everex Impact desktop with a old processor, low mem graphics card, 512mb and WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC loaded down with a bunch of stuff. Vista runs well on this computer just not the hard drive modded copy they gave me. I think the computer I bought would go very well with Windows Xp or some version of Linux. And then Everex US closes its doors. What a shit company...
The touchpad set up is that way so you can use it with both thumbs as you hold the computer. It's not meant to be primarily used on a desk - it's a UMPC to be used on the go. Imagine using it while sitting on a bus or train - holding it with both hands in your lap.
