when people say that americans are lazy for not learning any other language than english, they don't realize english is a composition of many languages and therefore not only is english one language but many.

@ez2killgod although English is a composition of many languages, it does you no good if you need to speak the local language of a foreign country, and all you know how to speak is English. for i.e.: say you get thrown into prison in a foreign country, probably due to a misunderstanding. it's situations like this where learning a foreign language ahead of time would've been handy. another reason is because, the Japanese language has words that don't translate into English,

not very well at least.
