I really like the beat to it, but from a lover of NMH, I think their original fit the lyrics a bit more (then again... their stuff is wayyyyyyy out there) But I really do give you props... I like your remix of it! :)
I sampled Bob Azam's "Rain, Rain Go Away" for the drums. Then I layered them with Jose Feliciano's version of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix"....then mixed in your savior's voice....with reverb.
But that's just me, a guy who could really give two fucks about Daft Punk or anime.
Not really bashing the song, but it's not a very good remix. The sounds don't blend well together, there's no compliment or cohesion to them. It's like you just played Naomi in a bathroom to get a tinny voice effect, threw on a bass track and called it a day.
it's not supposed to be better or worse its a remix of a great song obviously appreciated by the artist. to those who think bashing this song will up your cool points with all the other hipster fucks, think again. jeff would appreciate this and so should you. music is sound recycled..... you're all idiots
personally i dislike this beat but why would you hate on joe or the beat itself at all, joe's talented as fuck and has come through with some of the hottest fire ever in the last decade.. go work on your skills instead of trashing shit on youtube
NMH fans are really into their group and I respect that...However I have gotten the most vicious criticism over this song out of any I've done...it's oddly consistent. I think that's because NMH was the probably the furthest thing left I remixed on Indie Rock Blues. Then again if Dangermouse ever remixed anything by this group, yall would lose your fucking minds -for the political context alone. Sadly, this is the very reason why i never sent a copy of IRB to pitchfork or any like publicatio
@JOEYNOSEBEATS You did this so tastefully, so reserved and overall groovin. Any criticism is out of that snobbish indie hipster mentality of " Anything new or electronic in any way is a sell-out" Its all bullshit man, keep doing what you're doing its genius
damn, i've heard that bassline at the end before, i was thinking Damu the Fudgemunk used it but, i dunno, i suppose it just - sounds - familiar but really isn't
This is alright. You did a good job.
