How to choose an english girth

I bought a double elastic val du bois shaped girth and my horse got 2 huge soars... and she is groomed to perfection so I dont know if i will be buying a shaped girth again

I still use leather girths we have to for shows,and my girth has no elastic on one end and it doesnt pull my saddle out of place
