The song is about Margaret Thatcher, and government in general at that time(1986), but when Astro went over to Alis flat at the time to discuss ideas for the album, Ali said never mind that at the minute come into mi kitchen theres a rat behind the bin, and there was the title for the song Rat In Mi Kitchen on the album called Rat In The Kitchen.

when my girlfriend got me tickets to see ub40 in the netherlands( i went to the whole tour of rotterdam,amsterdam,eindhoven and utrecht) i was elated. i saw this very same concert on my 22nd birthday. i was high on jamaican orange,lsd and it was a great trip. astro u are the fucking shit! by the way the tickets for each cost 70 euros each (US$92) and they were worth it. these guys are the epitome of british reggae. no disregard to steel pulse,black uhuru or aswad.
