  • i got mine for free i dig a hole let it fill dug in a place were it boggy let nature do the work for a year then got fish plants done free nature is always best

  • Happy Home!!

  • @socialDNM - the pond kit was about $400 - waterfalls, lining, skimmer, the rocks were about the same...hard and heavy. picked up the fish for less than a dollar each at a nursery store that was closing it's doors.

  • How much did all this cost you? ( Not including fish)

  • those look taste:)

  • TWSS

  • how hard can what be ?? video description is wrong !

  • man, i love your ghost kois, I bought a baby one today, about 2 inches and i bought a couple of common koi to go with it..nice pond :)

  • Excellent!!

  • Nice pond! Not sure of the size but you seem to be just about right and not overstocked. Very nice. =]

  • Really nice. The water is so clear. Most pond videos the water is too murky to see the fish.

  • @chuzziii - thanks! I think it's the UV light I have, I had green water until I installed the UV.

Make sure you check out my other video a yr later on the pond - 2009.

A 2010 vid will show up in a few weeks - my fish are huge.

  • Make sure you check out my other video on my channel dated 5/2009 - a 1 yr update. 2010 update coming up soon!

  • hi i want to make a koi pond i have bought a swimming pool and i will put it in the back garden use it as the pond thats all i have or know about starting a pond, the fish that i will buy are 5-8" about 5 koi fish, i want someone to explain to me what els i need likw a pump and can u plz tell me what i need and what each thing do plz i realy like fish, it hot were i live in the uk and i want to do something nice this summer. POOL 60" X 10"

  • how do you make a frog pond

  • put water in the pond and you can't stop them from coming your way.

  • I don't know about you, but the fish are freaken addicting once you get your pond going!

  • Love my fish! have about 7 or 8 which is a few to many for my size.

  • No actually 7-8 is about the most you want to keep for 850 - 1,000 Gallons. But some people recommended not to buy koi at all when its under 1,000 Gallons. A "safe" koi pond would be 3,500 Gallons. But screw that! They are too addicting to jest have like 4 0r 5! I love koi!

  • I know what you mean

  • i did its really cool. how long are the fish? and how deep is the pond?

  • do you know how many gallons your pond is? btw it looks great!

  • rough guess - 850ish. check out my other video i put up - one yr later.

  • nice pond! btw how long did it take for your uv sterilizer to kick in? i bought one a week ago (8watts for a 300gal.) and the water is still pea soup w/ algae. going to go and buy a water diverter soon.

  • I purchased the UV last yr & before I installed it I drained out about 1/2 of the water and just started over again because my water was so green. I've heard it usually takes about a week to clean up. Try adding some clean water, also make sure it's being pumped at a good rate. Good luck. check back in a few weeks I'm putting up a new video. thanks

  • i'm in GA, so it doesn't get to cold during the winter - fish do fine. no deaths yet. get the right equipment and it takes about 15 mins a week to clean the material that has collected in the skimmer. very easy. change the filters once per yr & cover in the fall. My kit cost me about $500 - pump, skimmer, liner. UV - $120 Rocks - pretty expensive. Always under construction.

New video coming soon- check back in about a month.

  • Is it expensive to keep up and run pumps and stuff? How much time does it take to keep it running and clean? Does its smell fishy? Do you leave the fish in over the winter? Thanks!

  • i rekon that is a great pond have u got uvc? because your water is so clearr :)

  • Yep, I have a UV filter on the pond - works great.

This vid was last yr, I'll post what it looks like this yr in a few weeks. Fish are bigger and more plants now. small improvements.

  • Great Job with the underwater cave :)

This is a very cute pond.

  • i like the stony floor.

  • Looks great! It'll always be an on-going process, but it's well worth all the effort.
