  • The book was much more thorough plus Soc "leaps" (QUANTUM LEAP) at the end...in a mysterious flash of light.

  • i loved the book, laughed out loud at times. i don't even know what the movie is supposed to be about though.

  • Where Are You Dan?

    Here

    What Time Is It?

    Now

    Who are You?

    This Moment

Thumbs Up if this Sentence Became a Part of Your life

  • i love those AHA-moments

  • 5 people are rocks

  • The journey is what brings us happiness... not the destination this quote remindes me a poem that i know it's written by a greek aurthur Kavafi it's called "Ιθάκη" it talks about a journey and it finally says the same " it is not about the destination the journey is what brings us happiness!

  • It's like Jesus. He said "I'm the way, the Truth and the life". Instead of a rock. You'll find him :) Sorry my english is not perfect, i'm learning.

  • Ah so thats why Girls like to go shopping over and over... ;-)

  • The most profound statement in the Movie. Most people could learn from that.

  • The flaw with type if thinking is that you're basing the journey in the hope of a good outcome. But what if there was a hungry lion waiting for him at the top of the hill? I guess he could try to think about the great journey while he was being eaten alive but I doubt it would help much. The Bible says that Jesus had joy in His heart as He went and died a brutal death for you. All you have to do is accept it and you can know what waits for you at the top of the hill.

  • @Lewiski461 A Daoist sage was walking through a forest and a tiger jumps out from the bushes. And the sage starts running, but in his rush he does not see the cliff up ahead and he falls over, barely catching onto a branch. However, he notices another tiger at the bottom of the cliff waiting for him to fall. Tiger on top, Tiger on Bottom, but on the branch are some berries. And so he picks a berry, and it was the best berry he ever had in his life.

  • Great movie. It's really really great.

It's taught great lessons to me about life.

    great inspiration to life.

  • i believe this is right. the journey gives you happiness not the destination ;)

  • Crap, complete crap. There are so many ways to view life. If you go to Tibetan Monks they'll tell you that they mastered their crafts by looking at life at one point of view. If you ask millionaires how they made it big they'll tell give you a yet another, different perspective.

This was once my view on life, feel free to crap all over this theory:

"It's what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."

  • @ShonenWave There are different ways to view life but the view that allows one to pursue something that has an ultimate end in itself is a completely different thing. Take the millionaire who may see money as the measure of success and happiness, she/he would never be satisfied because money making has no end in itself.

  • I have been training inthe shadow Jedi Path for 6 months now, very similar to this Peaceful Warrior pah :) Befoere my training I was stuck, bound by restrictions of my mind, now... I a freeing myself from my predicament - the mind.

"The only struggles you have are the ones you create from yourself"

  • To answer your question the perfect time is now..........in this moment...and all moments after each moment.

  • To everyone facing hardships in their life..do not kick people out of your life, because you think this is for the best, it is not, trust me! Loved ones should always be treasured in life, because they truly are irreplaceable. It may not seem what you feel is right at the time, but look beyond....

  • What lesson was the older man trying to teach his young student?

Should the young student be disappointed by the "rock"?

    Explain

  • @kaushu400 That happiness or sense of fulfillment is just a state of mind in the present moment. The great thing he was going to show him or the "rock" represents something outside of himself that he thought would make him happy or fulfilled.

  • it's the view and everything else around that matters, soc just wanted to make that clear

  • The Peaceful Warrior.

Makes me feel good inside :)

  • Throw the rock!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What book or movie is this from?

  • @jeff81070 the Movie "Peaceful Warrior" from the Book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman

  • In my mind , it's that we may disappoint when we are trudging something, we expect something at the end of our journey but it may not be the thing that we want or expect it to be .

  • awesome movie. every single word that socrates was saying had a meaning, i watched it once and i am gonna watch it again now. its very inspiring for all people and especially for athletes

  • Actually happiness comes from within...no journey necessary!

  • @moqutpar Well mr know-it-all, actually happines doesn't come from anywhere. Happiness is... and when you let go of everything around you it can shine without any clouds in the way. ;---)

  • @Ianuarius85 You know more than me ;)

  • While I learned this for myself in 1976 riding 200 miles over 2 days on a bicycle it was good to re-discover it again in other matters of life.

Oh, my destination was a horse stable to spend the night in 1976, I took a friend...

I did it again 4 months later alone.

Both trips did me good. Amazing what you can do at 17...

    Did it many times since.

What did I find at the destination? It's 5 miles back to a good place to eat. :)

Make that a 210 mile trip each time...

  • "Better not be-"

    "The rock."

Ha! The acting in this was great!

  • @flameblade02

ahaha yeah. That was one of my favorite scenes and specifically those lines. I laughed out loud at those lines when I watched the movie.

  • They should have fought eachother... to the death.. in the final scene.

  • Greatest book for a young person to begin their spiritual journey with. The movie was good, but the book was great. This film has been exceptionally watered down, as to click with, and to not confuse, the general audience. That being said, I still love this movie. And, the book, is bar-none my favorite of all time. I don't care what anyone else thinks, it is a riveting masterpiece to me ^_^

  • @NamasteWarrior

    how 'young' are we talking..?

  • @channelin I'd say.. 15 or so. Depends on the individual. Reading level is very GA general audience. These sorts of books aren't the least bit scientific. But they are the sort that rely heavily on the content of one's own imaginative ability. I'd say, at whatever age a person starts to take life too seriously, say hey, and throw them a copy of this book ^_^

  • @NamasteWarrior

@15 you start to take life seriously?! were you high when your wrote that :)

  • ...ja, the journey mmmMooieReiziger en alles waar je echt van houdt zal je warmte blijven geven... voor altijd....en blijft altijd zoals een deel van jou. XXX

  • 'The journey is what brings us happiness not the destination.'ХХХ

  • those are some good damn rules =)

  • Love this... Lol and cry all at once. I share with every one I know and love!

  • "Sense of Humor and Change is Key"..Namaste

  • So TRUE.. GREAT MOVIE. def does teach a lesson

  • This movie is so inspirational and really touches me.

  • Shame they didnt put in what was in the book...........

  • rly liked this movie

  • hahahahaha thanks for making a write up for the vid! ^^

  • true!

  • Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior is the next step after this. Whats the book after that ?

  • The next story novel Dan wrote was The Journey of Socrates. I've read it and truly enjoyed it.

  • The Journeys of Socrates...a "prequel" about Socrates and his life and learning to be a Peaceful Warrior.

  • well try socrates journey ... he wrote it after both books and it tells the story of socrates

  • Yea I have. Why hasn't Dan gone on about what happens after Hawaii ? Was there a visit to the school in Japan ? I want the step forward not back.

  • Hehe.. i climb up a hill with the idea..i will find something special beyond that hill..and when i was there i loled..and this scene appeared in my mind. And of course Socrates words.

Great scene, great movie, Great Book!

  • I watched this at the most perfect time in my life...thank you......and I get it....

  • @islandstarblanket

when was the perfect time in your life? if you dont mind me asking

  • @channelin @channelin this is a great movie..just thought i would add my opinion to 'the perfect time in your life' that you asked. The perfect time in my life was not really perfect because of where i were i was heading (somewhat depression), but was really the journey, like told in the film. My gf helped me through a various hardships ( which are to sensitive to state, depressed symptoms), she was my rock through everything..it has made love eachother more than ever after 5 yrs! :D

  • @ThePeaceful8191

ohh i see. sadly im going through what might be called depression although i havent been to the doctors ive read up on the symptoms so im doing pretty badly atm. similarly my gf insists on helping me out because she loves me so much though i want to leave her because of what im going through and perhaps because i want to pursue other things

  • @channelin I am sad to hear that because i know what it is like. Whatever you do i would not recommend leaving your gf, in life it is very hard to find people who truly care, love you and want to help. I was in a very similar situation to yourself and i wanted to leave my girlfriend because i was too stubborn and thought i could handle everything myself and thought i wanted 'other things' in my life, but the reality was after thinking about those 'other things' they did not mean anything

  • @ThePeaceful8191 to me, compared to how truly amazing my gf is. I think as men we often push help away from others, particularly from our loved ones, in this case our girlfriends, we think that we can handle things ourselves and this is the complete opposite. We should be grateful that we even have such wonderful gf who care about us and in no way be selfish, because you may find you end up being much worse than you orignally were because of wanting to handle things yourself

  • @channelin @ThePeaceful8191 to me, compared to how truly amazing my gf is. • @channelin dude i couldn't agree more with what ThePeaceful8191 said. I have suffered from severe depression and my girlfriend at the time also insisted on helping me as she loved me and i being the silly guy that i am, rejected her help and wanted to be left alone. I soon realised as men we have a tendency to be stubborn, but what you don't know is my girlfriend was able to help me pull throuh. It was her LOVE and kindness that pull me out of my depression, don't you dare consider leaving her

  • @channelin We always underestimate our girlfriends and think they will be unable to help us, but as girlfriends they care and love us and it is part of their nuturing nature that wants and help us to get better. All i know is i did try and push my gf out because i thought she couldn't help me (despite suffering from dep, herself) and would always loose my temper at her and pick on silly things, such as telling her 'stop trying to be my counsellor'! i was a real douche to her

  • @channelin I cannot stress how much my girlfriend helped me through my severe depression and how glad i was when i had someone who genuinely loved and wanted to help me. It shouldn't be a reason to leave her because of what your going through, you should count your lucky stars you have a girlfriend who wants to help you and be there for you! I swear to you dude if it wasn't for my gf i don't think i would have pulled through today... don't push her away, you need her more than ever!

  • @channelin I don't know if you've look at the comments, but it seems that i am not the only one who has been in a similar siuation to yourself...and with the help of our girlfriends have recovered and got better, you shouldn't leave her, take it from someone who has had plenty of experience with this. I also shot you a message dude, check it out and get back to me..

  • amazing movie.. gives a lot of inspiration to me every time i think of it.

  • lol...this is why it is important to know where we are going.

  • the flower?

-better not be ---haha the best part of the film

  • definetely!

    lol

  • great*******

  • This is amazing.
