  • Damn, that's some high drama right there.

  • Season 5 was one of, if not the, best seasons of this show.

  • THIS is how you do a cliffhanger!

  • I loved Knots since Day One. Enjoyed it when it was about normal cul-de-sac folks like when Abby came in and seduced Richard in the hot tub was the big drama. I loved the realistic storylines. I liked this cliffhanger because it brought many people together into one finale. Thanks for sharing this great clip.

  • wish it was more writers that could write well dramatic stories like these shows instead of 15mins of fame reality shows

  • This was the best story...and season 5 was the best.

  • sOMEONE PUT THE EIPSOES LIKE ALL OF THEM ON YOUTUBE PLEASE!!!

  • Sadly, this was when KL changed its format from simple stories from the citizens of the cul-de-sac to business storylines.

    A shame.

  • This was an excellent season, one of the best cliffhangers on TV Ever!!!! and the Music on the background first rate! They sure don't do series like these anymore :( Classic!

  • Gary was such an idiot, & The way He leaves pregnant Val & runs after Abby shows he doesn't resemble anyone from the Strong Ewing clan. Miss Ellie was much tougher than Gary. I can see why Jock only gave him access to the interest of his inheritance for the first 5 yrs to make sure Gary wasn't reckless. How he managed to lose all his money even with 10% of Ewing Oil + the10 Million Jock left him isnt surprising. I never seen a man deceived by so women like Gary was.

  • LOL Look at the stunt man who is getting hit my Mark St.Claire's car, His hair is gray and doesnt look anything like Ted shackleford. I notice these things and just yesterday I seen an rerun of Bewitched and seen Elzabeth Montgomery in her Serena role walking in from of Samantha and the actress who stood in for her as her double and very fast her head was down and u can see it was E.M's stand in. I love little bloopers.

  • This was their best season finale.

  • The problem with this was that they crossed the storyline with Dallas when Gary died and didn't cross the really being alive part which unlinked the spin off soaps and caused countless continuity issues and further storyline problems on both soaps.

  • @Robansuefarm Yeah but imagine if they were still linked when it turned out to be a dream in Dallas... no idea how Knots would have got round that one!

  • @paulac2006 Gary and Val named the boy twin after Bobby who had died. They never addressed it after it turned out that season of Dallas had been a dream.

  • @paulac2006 That would have been a mess! LOL

  • @Robansuefarm no, that was when Bobby died on Dallas, you're confused.

  • @ncjuppiter Not confused, but you're right it was a typo. I did indeed mean to say whey Bobby died, not Gary.

  • They really don't make them this dramatic anymore. This was an awesome show. Does anyone know of anywhere you can watch full episodes online as they aren't on here

  • This clip gave me goosebumps just like 25 years had never even passed. KN was the best primetime soap ever............and that was because of the amazing cast and writers. I never realized that Kevin Dobson wore a hairpiece until just now. I'm watching old episodes of "Kojak" every night now, and he was heavily balding in 1974.

  • i just finished watching that eppy..I have all 14 seasons on dvd..so glad I was able to record them from Soap Net before it went off

  • Of all 14 seasons this is my all time favorite of the cliffhangers. It grew organically from the storylines converging with Mack, Gary, Val, Karen and Abby and was as suspenseful as any season finale of any show. This is typical of why Knots was by far the best of the prime time soaps and deserved multiple Emmy Awards. Great writing, excellent acting. No one did it better than Knots Landing

  • where can i find full full episodes?

  • The funny part is Val looked like she was in pain Mack kept saying "I got them" while holding his wife after being shot. He was so wrapped up in his work and so selfish.. Then Abby had long hair when she is shown looking out the back window of the limo. When the next season started her hair was cut short sort of like the 1982 cliffhanger "Good-Bye Cliff Barnes" Sue Ellen is at cliff's bedside telling JR if "Cliff dies I dont think I'll ever be able to marry you" Sue ellen's hair is short

  • @NFitalianGuy - I remember when this first came on and I cracked up when Abby turned around in the limo the following season with her new short haircut. Perhaps Mark St. Claire cut it off - LOL! He was such an evil bastard it would be plausible. Couldn't they have at least put some weave in her hair? I remember them doing it one year with Nicolette Sheridan.

  • @rpm8064 I know it was such a huge "wake up" call that we are watching a fictitous show. The same happened on Dallas in the 1982 cliffanger "Good-Bye, Cliff Barnes" and Sue Ellen and JR are at cliff's bedside and Sue Ellen tells JR if Cliff dies, she could never marry him. Then when the 82-83 season opened SueEllen was still by cliff;'s bed in the same outfit & she cut her hair short too. LOL The producers must have wanted to scream because of the huge change in these 2 actresses hairstyles LOL

  • @rpm8064 Sorry I rewrote what I had previously. its been a while since i posted the references between Dallasand KL. You are right they should have done something to keep the continuity of the actor's looks esp at the end of a cliffhanger.

  • god, these captures are so crystal clear...those were the days...lisa hartman really did rejuvenate knots landing...

  • I just purchased the DVD set of Season 2 of Knot's Landing. This was my all time favorite TV show; it was must watch TV. I really miss this show.

  • I was addicted too. Never missed an episode.

  • I was so addicted to this show in the 80's every Thursday evening at 10:00pm on CBS. Season 5 was a nail biter. Loved Donna Mills as Abby.

  • BANG! Thats how you do a season finale they just dont make tv shows like this anymore. I guess they couldnt make shows like this we have lost our innocence, but it was great to watch this never seen it before.

  • This was the "BEST SEASON" of Knots Landing..

  • damn, this show was good.

  • Great cliffhanger....I remember how exciting this was to see it the first time! I was enthralled. Knot's Landing at its best!

  • This was a good storyline, especially the way it managed to involve all the characters. But the final scene is a little much; all that screaming ("Gary!" "Val!" "Gary!" "Abby!" "Abby" Gary!") and too many characters in one place. I think the scene would have worked better w/out Val's inclusion. Also, having Mack's jeep blow up (w/out anyone inside) would have been a cool touch.

Karen's fall after getting shot looks ridiculous but that's the director's fault.

  • When Abby is whisked away by St. Claire in that car, it's funny how the cops run after it, like they're gonna catch up to it.....please!

  • Well, the top cop is also Mel Gibson's boss in the 'Lethal Weapon' movies. Maybe he thought he could catch the car on foot like Riggs.

  • The music from 2:35-3:37 is pretty intense. I like it. That lady with the gun plays Bill Paxon's mom in Big Love!

  • This was the best Valene and Joan Van Ark ever looked on this show.

She should have kept this sophisticated, sexy, gorgeous look, just updating it a bit as the years went by, instead of her crazy insane conflicting styles later on. The public would have liked her better because an actor's "look" counts on lot with the viewing public.

  • I love how Gary just dropped Valene and ran to try to save the Abster.

  • if i was gary i would have waved bye bye to abby and told her not to write

  • He couldn't do that back then because Abby still had a vice grip on his junk, LOL. but it was true. I have to agree with Abby when she and Karen had their final fight before she left the show, that She and Gary were acutally in Love. But still It will always Val and Gary forever (notice how everyone always says Val and Gary instead of Gary and Val? hmmmmmm points to ponder.

  • @ElJefeNLA Remember, the first Mrs. Ewing NEVER goes away...EVER. ;)

  • Best night time drama ever! I miss this show!

  • Me too, I loved this show!

  • I just loved Knots Landing and this cliffhanger was the best of all time. Also the season 6 finale was really good. And touching. We never got to see the last seasons here in Italy though and I missed a lot.

  • God I loved this show.

  • This is the most beautiful Val ever looked. Incredibly glamourous.

And Mark St. Claire was the worst villain. He even managed to unite the entire usually-bickering Knots Landing crowd.

Abby, whose fans were always bragging was so smart, was always getting in over her head and dragging everyone into her messes. She was worse than Gary & Val.

  • ehhhhh st claire was small change. much like the guy trying to take over the sumner group in the last season. pound for pound no villian did more damage then danny who nearly killed gary and did kill pat and tried to rape val. ted melcher and chip roberts are also up there on the list, as well as jill bennet

  • I wasn't a fan of Danny and his wife phoning Gary all the time, but he was still a good cruel bastard lol though Abby left around that time so it did have a big effect on the show for me... Chip = Good times!

  • I agree, she was in my eyes the best villain out of herself, Alexis Carrington... J.R etc they were too over the top in my own opinion though I still love them however don't get me wrong... Karen v.s. Abby in Knots love it!

  • @paulac2006 J.R. was larger than life but had a vulnerable side and you knew the method for his madness and why he did the things he did. Which made JR a person who you loved to hate. Abby was the second best villain because Alexis was too campy and never had viewers convinced she had a maternal side to her.

  • Please!! post the one where Abby is in Mark St. Claire's office, and he said to her, "I have no fear of you, if you want something to count on, consider yourself lucky that you're the one who's rich, and he's the one that's dead.

  • that's what i call good drama

  • Knotslandingfan already did. EPISODE #98 Finishing Touches

  • Thanks ! I used to watch this when I was a teen..

  • The best soap cliffhanger of all time...

  • The best ever!

  • certainly one of the most cliff hanging moments :) Please Comment
