The director should have trusted the source material to speak for itself - if you would like to see a much better movie on the same subject, check out "Edelweisspiraten", also on Youtube
i wanna punch thomas in the face. i cant believee how completely brainwashed he became ! i saw this movie in my english class thats how i know of it. i was absent so i had to watch the rest on my own. and now i sit here in my room with welled up eyes. i really liked this movie and i didnt know there was such thing as swing kids.. im glad my teacher chose to show us this. its so sad and i really cannot fathom how any nazi can call himself a human being, because what they did was insanely inhuman

NAZI connotes far more than some political party or ideology. And the extent to which you define 'harsh' methods is precisely an issue that determines whether a system is analogous to that connotation. My parents grew up in Nazi occupied Poland. There is definitely a line, a moral line governing conduct under threat and when we cross it, we lose what we, as America, represent.
no....scapegoating them sending them to camps and gasing them or lighting them on fire is pretty much the walking definition of Nazi... and to safegaurd your boarders? make a tripple layered wall with gaurds on top nobody is getting through 3 layers of concrete with gaurds and gaurd towers without some form of army with armored vechicles at their disposeal
@msjosephine2 I resent that haha. Actually, they don't sell clothes like them anymore. Double breasted blazers and overalls for one, I tried to find one but apparently they're 'out of fashion'. You can get the German uniforms custom made and they do look good, they were originally designed by Hugo Boss after all, but I'm sure you understand why I don't wear one casually. haha
