He's asking questions that most interviewers don't ask. I learned a lot about Ron Paul in this interview. I don't think John believes this, he is just doing what a real journalist and interviewer should do. He doesn't talk over Ron or interrupt him. He is asking real world questions and asking them as if he disagrees, just so Ron can explain his view.

@democratsaresmart Ron Paul will vastly reduce taxation, with low taxes businesses thrive and so does the economy. Low tax = better wages which inturn gives people more money to spend, making businesses thrive even more. For exampe look at Switzerland it has low tax and the highest standard of living in the world.
Politicians shouldn't try to create jobs that just adds to the problem. If an economy has low tax it will thrive and create jobs itself.

If illegal imigrants are contributing to society through their labor or running a business, I don't mind having them here. I think we should get them legalized if they are productive. If they are only here for benefits which we deny them, they will likely leave. If they are caught committing a crime then surely they should be deported. There will be some grey areas which can be resolved with intelligent thought, but most will either not come or will go home if benefits are denied.

He unfortunately will never get elected because I believe the elections are purchased far ahead of time. Take both Bush elections for example....plenty of voting fraud found in both but yet nothing is done. I am saying that the chess board is setup to place whoever is going to be president far before any election takes place. Real issue is why aren't the borders open, there shouldn't even be a line. I believe if someone wants to come to this country they should be able to get a work visa and come here and work until they get there citizenship, and be able to bring there family over. As a product of an immigrant family from south of the border, my initial reaction to his thoughts and ideas on illegal immigration is biased. I sympathize too much with the culture. However, I do recognize the problem at hand as well and if Ron Paul were to become president I would support his legislation, mainly because I trust his judgement. Illegals should not be protected and get special benefits, criminals should be punished and deported, good illegals should still fear the law.

@aironeous I also disagree with him on the birthright issue. However I cannot judge his interpretation of the constitution, I feel that he makes a valid point about the "jurisdiction" issue. Illegals need to be held accountable for by the law; it is a crime to be an illegal alien. This being said, I sympathize with your argument, children cant decide where the are born. @aironeous (cont.) sometimes I feel like someone who gets their car towed pays a higher price than illegal immigration. There needs to be some kind of "punishment" or probation for those families, even an education tax would be better than the lack of accountability there is today. For this to occur there would have to be some kind of naturalization process for the parents (no criminals) of those children so that they can be monitored and taxed but can also be deported if they break the rules.

On the question immigration, the answer would be to put mines along the border and place conspicuous signs that the area is mined. That should stop the drug runners and illegal immigrants from wanting to cross at those points. Immigration is good if the prospective immigrant goes through the proper channels, ie., Embassy or Consulate as a honest, hard working immigrant would do. We need honest people.

The problem with Ron Paul is that he is anti-immigrant so he will never win the Hispanic vote. Also there are millions of white Americans who have family members or extended family who are illegal immigrants waiting for amnesty. These people will never vote for him. Even president Obama's aunt was or still is an illegal immigrant. The majority Hispanic or Korean immigrants never claim tax returns or go to welfare, they work their asses off and buy property.

He's asking questions that most interviewers don't ask. I learned a lot about Ron Paul in this interview. Those values can be exercised from state to state but the government is there to assure liberty and protect the free market system. Ron Paul is offering this system of government. Low tax = better wages which inturn gives people more money to spend, making businesses thrive even more. For exampe look at Switzerland it has low tax and the highest standard of living in the world.
Politicians shouldn't try to create jobs that just adds to the problem. If an economy has low tax it will thrive and create jobs itself.

If illegal imigrants are contributing to society through their labor or running a business, I don't mind having them here. I think we should get them legalized if they are productive. If they are only here for benefits which we deny them, they will likely leave. If they are caught committing a crime then surely they should be deported. There will be some grey areas which can be resolved with intelligent thought, but most will either not come or will go home if benefits are denied.

Real issue is why aren't the borders open, there shouldn't even be a line. I believe if someone wants to come to this country they should be able to get a work visa and come here and work until they get there citizenship, and be able to bring there family over. As a product of an immigrant family from south of the border, my initial reaction to his thoughts and ideas on illegal immigration is biased. I sympathize too much with the culture. However, I do recognize the problem at hand as well and if Ron Paul were to become president I would support his legislation, mainly because I trust his judgement. Illegals should not be protected and get special benefits, criminals should be punished and deported, good illegals should still fear the law.

The only issue I disagree on hm with is the birthright issue and the only reason is because the baby has no control over where it gets born.
We can atleast be compassionate about this even though it costs us.

@aironeous I also disagree with him on the birthright issue. However I cannot judge his interpretation of the constitution, I feel that he makes a valid point about the "jurisdiction" issue. Illegals need to be held accountable for by the law; it is a crime to be an illegal alien. This being said, I sympathize with your argument, children cant decide where the are born. So what do we do about the issue? You can't just deport every family, but you cant let a crime go unpunished. (cont.)

@aironeous (cont.) sometimes I feel like someone who gets their car towed pays a higher price than illegal immigration. There needs to be some kind of "punishment" or probation for those families, even an education tax would be better than the lack of accountability there is today. For this to occur there would have to be some kind of naturalization process for the parents (no criminals) of those children so that they can be monitored and taxed but can also be deported if they break the rules.

He talks about this in Meet the Press I believe and he says there's confusion interpreting in the constitution about child born in US jurisdiction is the cause of this whole anchor baby issue and he wishes to make amendment to make it more clear that illegal's child born here in the US is consider illegal.

On the question immigration, the answer would be to put mines along the border and place conspicuous signs that the area is mined. That should stop the drug runners and illegal immigrants from wanting to cross at those points. Immigration is good if the prospective immigrant goes through the proper channels, ie., Embassy or Consulate as a honest, hard working immigrant would do. We need honest people.
