Otherwise it's a neat little building animation that I don't know how to make.

Obviously there was no steel framework in this building. Steel framed concrete buildings do not collapse like that and never have, well except 3 of them on 9/11. Is this a model of a building in Durkadurkastan?

@garuga0777 they will definitely realize that in video games in a near future. i think CUDA, PhysX and directX10, 11 are good ways to use the power of graphics cards for physic.

battlefield bad company 2 for example made a small step in that direction. there you can destroy all buildings. its scripted but still pretty much fun to blow up buildings.

they have to do it like that there are no other ways at the moment. and if you consider that bf bc2 is multiplayer game its pretty obvious that buildings are destroyable only at certain points. imagine a multiplayer game in which every brick of a collapsing building has to be synchronized. that would be a way too huge amount of data.. anyway i think for now its a really good way to provide destroyable buildings as u can easily improve the quality by increasing the amount of "break points.
