Hey James, I think Raul was being honest. He did not know what to say. While Bush had us off fighting a country that did not attack us, the economy of the land we love was being pillaged by corporate interests. Would you prefer false platitudes? You guys are brave warriors, no doubt, but look at the big picture. Bin Laden stated he wanted to 'ruin the American economy". Bush took us to find Bin Laden and start a war in Iraq. Bin Laden is still at large, the economy is crap. Who won (so far?).

Thom, Thank you for your comment. Damien Lopez was the name of the soldier. Whether you agree with the war or not, any soldier dies for his country - a love for his country - right or wrong. Raul doesn't understand that concept in a large part because he doesn't love his country the way you or I do.  As to the other issues you raised, its hard for me to comment as I supported the war. I do agree with you that the war had been poorly executed.
