I've said that Jecht is way overpowered since the beginning. It took me absolutely forever to beat him when he was only 10 levels above me. (with Squall)

Keep in mind, I'm a master of the first game and never played this one.

If you look closely, a bit of text on the screen on her side says "Second chance activated". That means she used an accessory, was also in the last game, that drops her bravery into her HP once and only once, saving her from death. It auto-activates as soon as she would have died, and afterwords is broken, and won't activate again, hence why she didn't do it again.

Players can get it as well, it's one of those 100% breakable accessories that most save for bosses and such.
