Could you actually throw us any tips on how to make such a realistic rendering? It's actually close to film quality which is what I am very interested in. Is it mental ray? Any... settings? Thanks a bunch! :)
Many thanks for your reply. I really want to learn how to do this. I got a paint effect tutorial from DT, but it is a 3 discs tutorial and I really want to learn how to do something like that quickly without going thru the entire 3 discs, because I need to incorporate something like this in an urgent project. Do you think you can give me and tips or advice of the topic I should focus on learning?
@franklin20uk I just followed this tutorial (search for "Flowers inside Maya" in youtube). It will show you how to basically make the flowers grow. I just added the grass, the dried grass beneath it, the rain, and the spotlight. For the grass, you can edit the turbulence to make them sway. You will know how to do that with the tutorial.
Tnx. Standard meaning I didn't change any settings with the effect. It's from Maya's default paint effects collection. :) no post production done btw.

@franklin20uk This rendered quite fast actually. Around 15mins for 600 frames.

Rain was just a standard paint effects. It doesn't look good at first but add the lights and it would be perfect. Tnx :)

Sometimes a mental ray just doesn't use the trick, and you have to get your hands involved. :)
